I too would love to have one if I had that money, but to me it is not worth the asking price especially the super snakes depreciate after building them. This will to IMO..It is worth maybe $150k at most
Yeah he's high on the price. 180k would be more reasonable.

SS owners don't like it when I refer to these conversions as the " cookie cutter " segment of the market.
If you're looking for a " unique " build, SAI is not your friend, even though you're paying top dollar for their product.
They want to sell you " their " idea of a performance car, a package deal.
I followed a SS build on another site, owner had, with the price of the car, well over a 100K invested, asked to have the blower powder coated & SAI wouldn't do it for him.
So, the car listed in this thread is " 1 of 10 ", that's a lot of $$$$, for something that there are 9 more copies of !!

I think the base upgrade alone was $155,000, not including the vehicle. No doubt higher if you went with the wide body conversion and other options. Very certain you could duplicate it at much lower cost, without paying the Shelby "tax".
Changed that for ya. LOL.

Basically, you could buy this car, or you could buy a different regular 2014 GT500 for every day of the week. At least it isnt a wide-body, those things are FUGLY.

For the money you are looking to spend I think I would go with a 2014 GT500 all day long (I know, I am partial to it, but for good reason in my opinion). Like I said yesterday, drive the M4 too (although even a used one may be outside your price range- but you can find some in the mid-upper $40K's if you look).

As for Clem's opinion on wide body - AGREED! I never understood the attraction to wide bodies, fender flare extensions, body kits, etc...might as well camber the wheels and throw a huge wing on the back too, then use it in a cartoon.

I made my old 2013 GT500 into a super snake clone, 3.6KB, hood, stripes and all the matching parts except the wheels. It cost me almost 18k to do all that. I was very happy how it all turned out and I saved a lot of money, but man the people who had real super snakes hated me lol, I would piss them off just for fun.

I think from what I've seen, the reason SS purchasers get so butt hurt, they know just as well as we do, they took it in the shorts.
The depreciation is sickening on these cars.
Several I've seen over the years weren't purchased by "car guys" but instead by "money" guys.
Look what I bought!
Come sale time, it's listed high & sits until the actual sale price falls to an undisclosed walk of shame number.
I can think of better ways to un-ass myself of some big dollars without having SAI building a car for me.
I'm not saying they aren't nice, but damn..

12 stings into my stang passion, and absolutely a no on that. But IMO if you do a 1000 then you do the wide body ... or why even do it. 1000+ hp is something we can do with several strong tuners here. A total pkg is what makes these special, and no wodebody to me is a tragic mistake on the spec of this car. The price is just silly.

I personally have a tough time with 6 figure S197 mustangs. As mentioned the deprecation is worse than a new Bentley. Now this particular example? Quarter million? I would buy a second FGT in a heartbeat.

I'd venture to say that most people who have the money for 6 figure Mustangs don't care "if they're worth it". If they want it, they buy it, and park it next to more expensive cars.

Lots of truth to this- most of the ones I see for sale are super low mileage, which to me implies they have the money to say 'I have a SS' but then park it and sell it later at a massive loss. I do think that that could also imply that for some reason they think they are buying an investment of some sort- why else would you buy it and then park it and then sell it? To me, enjoyment would mean buying and then DRIVING it! I see no enjoyment in overpaying for something only to sell it at a significant loss down the road without having even driven it enough to have fun in between transactions.

Car is gorgeous.. love the ruby red.

But price is absolutely laughable. Even if I had $5m to burn away I wouldn't do it, no chance.

Build it for 1/3 the price, buy a matching truck and trailer to tow it and give the wife $50k to burn on shiny, stupid things.

Everyone wins.

Did you run the Shelby 1000 hood? Were you able to clear the 3.6KB without lowering the engine?

He ran SS hood not S1000.
Not sure if SS hood alone clears 3.6 or if lowering mounts needed.
I’m interested in an S1000 hood but not at total investment cost.
