So I’ve promised my father that I’d go ahead and throw a seat in the car so he can also enjoy it as I do here and there. Currently I have a set of corbeau seats that are snug on me but there’s no chance he’s getting in there at his 400+lb weight. His waist is somewhere in the 50” range. I’m not a small guy either at 6’ 250lbs but I’m looking for seat options. Does anyone know of a seat that can accommodate the plus size fellas? I’ve been thinking kirkey. Keep in mind this car will see a road coarse from time to time. Would love to have something fia approved too.

The real question is quality and price. What are you looking for?

I am not a small guy. From time to time I pilot a friend's grudge car. I am far from being small. I am 200lbs at 8% body fat. I'm at my winter weight at the moment, and I am working my butt off to get down to at least 215lbs. I had an aluminum seat custom made for me in that car. Safety is a huge concern in a any crash, and I don't want to be stuck, or flop around if I get out of control. I want to be secure and feel like I'm being coddled if I take a tumble at the speed I run.

I actually sat down and measured my big self, just like a tailor would. I built the frame and aluminum seat, and had a friend upholster it to look like any other racing seat.

If the man that owns the car doesn't mind me taking a few pics to post, I will. However, a custom built seat is not cheap. I can honestly say I am glad I didn't foot the bill.

...and the seat is easily exchanged. I am not always available to play at the track. In fact, I need a little seat time.

My pockets aren’t deep. Would prefer not to spend over 500 a seat. However I’m aware I might have to and in that case I wouldn’t mind having two different similar looking seats that I can swap back and forth.
