I love shooting the 5.7 and hope to get one one day. Just wish ammo was a bit cheaper

I sold one of my 2 ARs and ordered this last month. They had an introductory price of 799. Add the upgraded rail and shipping and it came just over 1,000 shipped.

I think it's going to be a blast. Will be my first tax stamp item

My buddy owns a gun shop and luckily he usually stocks the 5.7 ammo and he’s reasonably priced which helps out. The rifle should be a blast. Good luck with it !

My dads 1911 custom build started. We went to the shop yesterday to finalize some stuff and make a payment. I will try to keep updating with progress pics. Thanks for lookin.

Lookin' good. Did the same thing to my Colt myself on the beavertail. PM me and let me know how much it costs once it's done so I'll know how much my time was worth.

Looks awesome. You may want to be a gunsmith going forward.

Pm sent.
Thanks, but I will tell you why I won't, at least not on 1911's. Some 1911 parts fit "easy" (minimum fitting required), and some just don't, and if you do it for someone else it has to be right, and it has to be how they want it.

I was proud of the job I did on the fully fitted Wilson "Bulletproof" beavertail. I don't think it could have been done better by anyone, but I put two solid days in it and could have never charged enough to make it worth while.

Yeah the labor costs for gunsmithing a custom pistol ain’t cheap but a good gunsmith is tough to find and the guy we use is the best around in my opinion.

So true. It's VERY hard to find a good 1911 pistol smith who isn't either too busy, or too far away.
My slide for that same Colt is due back tomorrow from Novaks in WV. I sent it purely on their long standing reputation, but the communications in advance were not good. Fingers crossed. They were just cutting dovetails for new sights which is their stock-in-trade, but it was dad's gun and all that.

I love seeing all these guns but I’d be very nervous posting my collection on line. In the event we get the wrong leadership elected you never know what laws they could pass. Could come back and bite ya!

Don't know about y'all, but mine were all lost in a tragic boating accident.

Beat me to it.

It's a tragedy, really. You go out on the lake (very deep lake, btw) to do some boating and shooting. Some jackwagon in a wakeboard boat comes too close and capsizes you and sends your entire collection to the bottom of the lake. I'll tell you what, I'm lucky to be alive today.
