I have a 2012 shelby gt500 full build engine with 4.2lc supercharger and a 168mm KB throttle body. I already have a tune for it but i have an issue when quick shifting or wot shifting the throttle stops responding and sometimes car shotdown. This issue only happens on the race fuel tune , on pump gas tune it doesn't . So am sure it is not a throttle body issue but a tune issue. Tuner is not accepting this fact or can't acually solve the issue. Any one had a similar issue or knows a tuner that could solve this problem ?

I've heard of a lot of issues with Lund tuning the KB 168. Failsafes that are blamed on "mechanical failures".

Is there any option than Lund ?
The weird part that the throttle is working on pump gas fine also with wot shifting , but have the problem on race fuel tune also if i am quick shifting. It can’t be the throttle body has an issue , it must be the tune .

From someone who had 3.6KB with a 168mm T/B, take my word Lund is the man for tuning the KB setups. He had my 13 GT500 running better than stock and had no issues. Most tuners have a hard time with the 168.

No longer have the car, but Ken Bjonnes at PB Dyno did a fantastic job. I run both his and Lund's tunes and have done so on my Coyote and Trinity cars. Ken did a better job on the 168 by a mile. They both made similiar power but if I had to have that TB again(I'd be hesitant to ever get a single big bore again), I'd go to Ken.

Are you overseas? I'm asking because you might want to think about an alternative....

I'm not here to bash anyone but to state some facts about having someone else tune your car. Every tuner has a method that he developed over time and because they do this as a business, they will spend the minimum amount of time for every customer. If a customer has unique issues that would take more time for the tuner to figure out, they will most likely NOT spend the time with you to resolve your issue. They already have your money. So as the customer, what are you supposed to do? Find another tuner and "start over"? More time, more $$$ out of your pocket with no guarantee that your new tuner can figure it out?

Have you ever heard the saying,

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

Consider exactly what I have done.... Learn to tune yourself. Not only have I done so, I have done so not as a business opportunity, but to help others (at no cost). And as I type this, I myself will be installing a 168 KB on my car very soon and when I do, I will be tuning it. Hypothetically, if you were tuning yourself (and have the software), I could literally e-mail you a value file to load into your current tune that has throttle body settings and we could work this issue.....

yeah i am overseas , i have the sct software and i have the hp tuner software for tuning . I do know the basics about tuning but thought about tuning it with Lund to get the best out of it. I would be happy if you could send me the throttle body setting and we could work it out. This is my email [email protected]

I would be happy to send it to you, but I have not installed mine yet, therefore I have not tried tuning it yet. Do you have access to the Drive-by-Wire in Advantage? If so, I can email you my recommendations. I do not use hptuners..... yet.

I have a Lund tuned KB mono and once had the same problem. It actually occurred while I was data logging for a Lund tweak. It was fixed by Lund with a slight tune revision. I signed on with Lund for $250 when I tried an SCJ Mono. Lund later urged me to go with the KB Mono & gave me that tune + tweaks free as I was still covered on Lund's revisions policy. Now...even during winter weather my KB is and awesome with zero issues, never a stumble or surge with smooth linear WOT pulls.
Prior to following Lund's KB Mono advice I called Bill in CT about the SCJ. He seemed extremely knowledgeable & urged me to get the oval Whipple TB. His shop was 3 hrs from me. Due to his very well respected reputation his schedule required leaving the car 3-4 days and $750- $850 for the tune....if he could get the SCJ working. Otherwise, he recommended the Whipple.
When Lund offered me the KB Mono tune/tweaks free under his policy it was a no brained for me to stay with Lund. I'd hope you can work out this issue with Lund. If not good luck with your plan to contact Pro Edge or obtain help from the other folks here on the forum.

I use Kurgan Motorsports for my big Monoblade KB. It is a Cobra but he got it running like stock.

Thanks diffenatly going with one of these tuners , John Lund is not the way to go and he is still saying it is not a tune issue also when i did send him two logs from two tunes he send to me one is working fine and the other is not. It was really a waste of time and money.
