I like the looks of the 2-door, but I can't justify the price. I miss the 4.0 I-6.
Yeah, that was a great motor and pretty much bulletproof. The current 3.6 Pentastar isn’t bad either, but I’d likely add a power adder. I’m a little hesitant on the 2.0 turbo motor, but it got decent reviews.

l6 for the win, always.

Why do these manufacturers always discontinue the bulletproof, smooth motors?

Yeah...never mind.

Agreed, but they are over $40k now I believe. That is even more insane.

I've worked at a CDJR Dealership in new vehicle sales for 7 years now.. The price jump is about $3,000 from the JK to JL. While Jeep is EXTREMELY proud of these things, it is justifiable if you are shown everything they changed. This thing is light years ahead of the JK. We just finished training as I'm typing this haha

If anyone has any questions about them, I'm happy to provide any information!

My folks just bought a 2018 to tow behind their motorhome. It’s fully loaded and is a nice as some cadillacs now.
I think they are kinda transitioning from off-road vehicle to the a family vehicle, much like trucks have.

I think they are leaving a big hole in the market for a simple bare-bones truck.

(Inhale)

Windshield sloped and now dual-pane for less wind noise, every bit of glass is bigger than JK for visibility, grille sloped, bigger headlights, fog lights moved to the outside of the front bumper, running lights in fenders, all new hood latches, heat extractors in front fenders for less turbulence under the hood (keeps hood from flexing at highway speeds), re designed fender flares for up to 35" tires without needing aftermarket flares, door stops, aluminum hood and doors, tuned shocks (WAY better handling), 8 speed transmission for better acceleration and fuel economy ($600 more than the previous automatic), lighter hard top pieces, removed the long annoying anchor screws in the hard top pieces, interior is from 2018 and not 1931 like the '07-early '18 models, rear seat is reclined 8 degrees with an arm rest in the higher models, backup camera, rear wiper blade is moved down to bottom of window instead of top, increasing visibility out the back, adjustable third brake light allows for addition of bigger spare tire, blindspot monitoring and crosspath detection, built-in aux switches for up to 4 lights/accessories to be added, the list goes on...

Im not all about all the fancy stuff on a jeep. I enjoy mine just as it is. Its noisy, rough and sucks on gas but i have ever loved a vehicle like my TJ. As of now, i would only own the 4.0. They just last for ever. I want to get several and custom build each one. When the wife gets her car paid off, we're going to get her one.
