So I caught my neighbor going through my mailbox.

Photo and video proof then go to the local postmaster. Like the others said before, this is the way to go. Let her explain it to a US postal inspector.

Just be a neighbor and ask her. Maybe she's looking for her own mail that may have been put in your box by accident. Some of the responses on here are pretty sad.

Pardon me but why is the burden on him rather than on her who should be asking him if her mail was received instead of taking it upon herself and exploring his mail and box?

People have a right to be secure in their homes. Who's to say there would be a next time where a photo could be taken? One time is all it takes to steal an identity or perhaps something expensive being delivered. How would you approach and react to someone rummaging through your car?

I actually dealt with this exact situation in the last subdivision I lived at. I Was pulling onto our street and I saw the guy standing at my mail box...He then opened it up and I suppose saw me out of the corner of his eye and shut it back.. He was walking a poodle at the time, and just started walking. I parked up immediately and said "what are you doing".. He replied "I was expecting a letter today and, uhm..thought they may have delivered it to you instead". I said, "if that ever happens, I will let you know. Stay away from my property from here on". He apologized and went on. The dude was weird. I called him being an odd cat the first time I saw him walking his pink toy poodle. He was a photographer and was later busted and is now serving time as a pederass.

Guess what house number he had given to the child-porn picture sellers?

Man, that was close for you.

I did not even consider that. WTF!

I forgot. He walked over to my wife one day and said.. Hey, I was taking pictures of you when you were washing your car the other day. Would you be interested in buying them? I of course told another neighbor that is a city cop. He says that he had a talk with him, but I doubt that he ever did.

Did you buy any of the pictures? Are you still interested?
