I am Just as curious as you are on how it will do, which ones are you running? What lap times is it doing out west on race tires? Are you guys bringing full crew?
Also if you want you can take a peak at the Bosch M4 system in our car, I was the one on the other forum that had suggested it. Also have the Program Ford made for it when it ran in IMSA.
Pilot Sport Cup 2's ; we did a couple of days of testing at Thermal and got the handling balance basically dialed in. It's slooow compared to running on slicks, but it's easy to drive. We'll have our gang there since we need tire, fuel, brake changes for a race this long.
And yes, I'd really appreciate the opportunity to look at the M4 system. I'm in the process of putting one into my 302S and that would be a huge time-saver! Thanks.
Im sure we will both end up in the same (top) class, so I look forward to racing against your car. Luckily for us we can do 9 hours on all the same consumables.

Thanks so much. I was at races in Indianapolis and saw them. I was in awe at the sound. They were nasty mad when they first fired them up. Like a 2” stroke or close. What a sound. So much tech with the air valves and stuff.

By consumables do you just mean brakes? Im curious what tire could last 9 hours.
the little details of the garage just come out on a picture of that quality/resolution, and its just amazing.
i don't know about you guys but if they gave me the manual to go with that F1 engine, i'd wanna open it up to see the innards and then rebuild it? maybe even swap it into a lightweight car? sadly that engine will just sit there as a trophy all pretty and what not. although i understand the sentiment, am sure it wasn't cheap lol.

Interestingly it's not the capex, it's the opex. This generation of F1 engines, if you detune them slightly, need to be rebuilt every 1000km; the rebuild costs >$200,000. In exchange you get a lightweight ~900HP motor which requires a pit crew and special machinery just to start it. For example, the motor needs to be warmed to operating temperature by an external heater circulating fluids before it can be turned over. So the fantasy of "I've got an F1 engine in my street car" is quickly replaced by the reality that you can get more power, more reliability and more usability for a lot less money and PITA.
F1 motors make sense in F1 cars, where there are series rules they must comply to, and a 850-lb carbon fiber chassis for which their extreme light weight is the perfect pairing. But outside that -- think of it like owning a used rocket motor. It's awesome, a work of art, and a piece of history. But you're not likely to recreate the entire rocket program just to fire it up. And it's only really suitable for putting things into orbit.

Well you have a great Mustang and what appears to be a daily driver. It's more than what a lot of people have. And we all live vicariously through Treynor, we have a club with member dues and everything.
