Guys I am thinking about doing a custom loop along with a new case. I am thinking about the phanteks glacier gpu block for my 1080ti and the EK strix block for Z270 Mobo and CPU. I am trying to find a case (preferably in white) that is good for watercooling and can accommodate at least a 480 and 240+ rad. I think I want a full tower too. Any recommendations?

480 is a decent sized rad, might look into a caselabs case, but they are $$$$$. I have a be quiet darkbase pro and I think it can only handle a 420.

Yeah I looked at the Caselabs but I can't justify 500+ for a case I am thinking about the Thermaltake core P5. I think a single 480 rad should be able to cool my loop.

Ya I would wait a bit to buy a video card, although with the current crash hopefully that frees up some of the market, I want another 1080ti

Was thinking bout a 1080ti, even had money saved up for one. Dam miners. At least it gives me a chance to upgrade my CPU and Mobo for the time being
It is insane how much the cards have gone up, even the AMD cards, their top of the line card was about $500 (vega 64). Right now is around $1200.
The 1080ti doubled in price too. I kinda wish I knew the prices would have went up. Overcharge the miners.

Honestly I am thinking about buying rigs with 1070/1080/1080ti's and parting them out

Time for a change I guess. Replacing all of my white only LED parts with their RGB counterparts. While clean, I'm getting tired of the strictly white theme. At the same time, I'm not interested in a rainbow display either, but I like the idea of being able to cycle colors whenever the mood strikes. Thankfully my motherboard, AIO cooler and all my peripherals are already RGB, so time to replace the RAM and case fans.

Edit: Add a new graphics card to that list. Really waiting for an MSI 1080 Ti Gaming X Trio, but current GPU prices are absurd. Thanks miners!

I finally was able to order a 1080ti today. My question is, would I benefit from over clocking my processor in terms of gaming only? I only play PUBG.

My mother board is: asus m5a99fx pro r.20 am3+ amd 99fx sata 6gb/s usb 3.0 etc mother board
My processor is: AMD FD8320FRHKBOX FX-8320 FX series 8 core black edition

Please provide reasons for you answers. I've never overclocked anything. I do have a HUGE dual fan processor cooler now so i am not worried about heat but I will monitor it.

Off topic, i put my Sennheiser headphones up for sale locally. I am done with wired head wear.

I'm still on the LGA1150 socket... i7-4770K. Until these memory prices drop down, I don't see myself upgrading anytime soon. Wanted to just instantly bump up to the latest platform, 32 or 64GB of ram and a high end CPU.. until then, I'll be stuck with my CPU as a bottleneck.

To be honest, that's a lot of GPU for your CPU to handle but if you can't afford a new processor/motherboard etc then definitely OC it. I have my 8320 running at 4.5 with a pretty cheap air cooler so you should be able to at least hit 4.5.

I will try it as is once i get the card. What problems should i expect if it's too much GPU for my CPU?

You won't have any actual problems. You just might not get everything you can out of that GPU.

For example. You might get 100 FPS on Game 1 where as someone else with a better CPU gets 120 FPS (or whatever).

I'm almost afraid to ask, but what did it end up costing you? And what model was it exactly?

Here ya go
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...7142&cm_re=gtx_1080_ti-_-14-137-142-_-Product

I'm coming from a 970 so even not over clocked it will be a big upgrade for me.

Yeah...these prices are insane. Either way, congrats on the upgrade!

That's really not bad considering 1080 Ti's go for $800 something even when the miners aren't driving up the prices. That particular one is tempting, considering its RGB and MSI.
