So it’s finally come true the new gen 3 TVS was revealed by VMP today on their livestream. They said there is a 4-6 month lead time on the blower. The inlet is massive, in the CAD image they had up it had a inlet that looked like the Gen 2R but sized up for the gen 3.

The real question is who would be willing to get the new blower?

I have a feeling this blower will not disappoint. The 2.3 is a mean unit.

Nice! So the terminator crowd just got the gen3 2.9 offered...now the official news on the 2.6 vmp. Pretty awesome how much attention this 15yr old car still commands in 2018
For sure! Now it's got me thinking. I mean I love the way my car is now, but this tempting. I'd maybe even have to upgrade to id1300 injectors, I don't want to drop the tank for a third time.

I think Brady it's going to depend on your vision for the car. I still believe 700 wheel is the sweetspot to see longevity out of the driveline for a weekend toy (stock t56, irs, etc) like we drive them.....if this blower starts pushing 850 wheel out of a bonestock compression 03/04 (I'm dubious of the 1000 claim), thats going to put all kinds of other parts in jeopardy. You will probably need the magnum, solid axle, etc.

Here's a YouTube link guys. One nice thing is this 2.6 will make more boost with less pulley. They suggest to pulley up 2-3 sizes to achieve your current boost level on the gen 1&2. This would be nice not having to run a small 2.6 upper!

I agree. I run into people all the time that aren't mustang fans but they all still know the deal! It's awesome that you can still get new parts constantly for these cars.

Thats what I was wondering about. Is it necessarily bad to have a smaller pulley? Whats the advantage of the same boost with a larger pulley?

Curious to see the comparison between the gen 3 and this.. I almost bit the bullet on the Gen 3... now this is tempting....

but the more I think about it, if I spend big money on this car again I'll probably just go turbo.
