Ive been looking around to see if anyone has done this aside from just getting the aftermarket adapter and its been a tough search. People talk very little about what they did.
I am installing a rear ice tank and was looking to upgrade to 3/4 feed and return lines for more flow to and from the intercooler.
Has anyone just drilled out the inlet/outlet adapter holes and added a new larger fitting or barbs?

yea simple, but has anyone drilled them out to a larger diameter and seen a somewhat better flow or would just the 3/4 feed/return lines be more then enough to overcome that neck down at the adapter?

Yea ive see that kit around, but that price is pretty damn steep for my taste. I know due to it being a small market and currently J2 and Cobra Engineering being the only ones to offer this mod, the price can be as steep as they like until other competitors look to get into that mod for our cars. Plus due to the age of our cars, they are gonna probably be the only ones to offer that upgrade, so price wont change.

Guess ill just yank my adapter off and do the measurements and see how i can improve upon it. Ive got a metal lathe so making the tubes shouldnt be much of a problem.

Curious what you ever decided to do?
