The car has had 2 owners and is at a dealer now. No clue when the stripes were removed.
Also, I noticed there are no stripes on the side.
This car is 38,900. Which is the best price I can find by far on a 13/14 convertible.
Yeah, there's probably a reason why it's only $38,900.

Never saw the Mileage? How many miles on it?
24,000. It’s getting 3rd party inspection tomorrow.

Also, I found previous owner info and spoke to him (his listing before trade in is still on autotrader).

Spoke to him briefly today - he said car never had any body work. Just didn’t like look of stripe on hood (or rocker panel).

If everything checks out on the inspection and you decide to buy I would ask the dealer to deduct the cost of the stripes off the purchase price. That little bit of striping is probably about $1000

I was close $815 to replace the missing stripes or $530 If you purchase the stripes from Autonation Ford of White Bear Lake.

Or just go to any vinyl/sign shop and get all the stripes replaced for $150

Yeah let’s spend some good money for a Shelby. Then put cheap ass stripes on it.

Theres nothing special about matt black stripes to be honest
I had my car damaged while @ a shop, the shop paid for all repairs including new stripes on the front end. When they checked with a vinyl shop they typically use for replacement stripes they were told the Ford stripes are unique, they're not a true matte and not quite a satin finish. The shop that damaged my car ended up purchasing the stripes from Ford based on this.

This purchase is tapping out my budget (aka allowance the wife is allowing me to spend).

More than likely I would go 3rd party stripes initially, hoping to get OEM ones later.

If I were replacing the stripes I would just have a body shop paint them on instead.

I'm not sure about the black stripes, but my Sonic Blue stripes are painted vinyl.
They are metallic blue and only option is OEM to match.
Strange logic by previous owner, but if not previously in a wreck, great price.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense.
If the OP talked to previous owner, the previous owner has already sold car to dealer so you'd hope he'd be honest. Still strange as pulling off the hood makes the front bumper look terrible.

Unless he is thinking that the dealer is acting as a potential buyer to get the real story behind the car. Some people are just dishonest to the point that they begin to believe their own BS.

Good advice given by Lexustech48 and others. You also need to know that a clean Carfax or Oasis report doesn't guarantee the car was never in an accident. Those reporting services will ONLY be accurate if accidents/repairs were actually reported. It is not uncommon for a repair shop to not report the repair in order to ensure the resale value doesn't drop. My nephew once damaged his Mustang front end, and when he had the repairs done he told the repair shop to not report it. They didn't, and when he ultimately sold it, the Carfax was clean and he got top dollar as his Mustang was otherwise immaculate and low mileage. Just something to remember. It DOES happen, unfortunately.

This, I actually just went through this with a "CLEAN" notchback. No accident reports, nothing on the carfax, pop the hood and the inner fender is wrinkled up. Then to top that off the stock k member was a different color from the car. Be very thorough and aware of what you could possibly be getting into.
