Some guys on the F150 forum used forscan to turn off the auto stop trash

My initial thought was that's how to do it. However, in my quick search, I read that it wasn't possible through Forscan. I must not have found the right thread. :)

You know, the Forscan thing really intrigues me. However, even though I'm pretty computer/code/programming literate, it scares the bejesus out of me to start messing with the settings.

The 3.5 in my Explorer felt like a dog, got horrible millage and cut out at 119.

Never again will I get one of those Jankyass motors.

I”ll be damned. Sounds like a good gokart powerplant

Something like this?

NA 3.5 or 3.5 EcoBoost? If EcoBoost, you must be used to some crazy power because an Explorer Sport is not a "dog."

Interesting perspective. I feel as though the 3.5TT in my truck is quite strong. I wonder what, if any, differences there are between the two engines.

I would never in my life buy a full size truck without a 5.0L.

Drive a 5.0 and then a similarly setup 3.5EB. I bought mine then went out of town for work a month later and got a 5.0 XLT SCrew 4x4 as a rental. I hated the 5.0 and was glad I bought the EB.

Well that’s interesting. Never heard anyone complain about one. I have owned an 11 and 13 ecoboost F150. Them and our Expy Sport were all tuned. Never had an issue with any. Love the 3.5 eco.

the early EB motors had issues with the timing chains, so you DON'T want a 11 or 12. the 13-14s were much better. The 15-17 is the sweet spot. nonetheless many documented EB motors have gone over 200k with zero issues. Since it is DI you want to use fully syn motor oil and change every 4k miles. the plugs need to be changed every 12-15k miles due to fouling. the intake system MUST have a catch can to remove all the sludge/gas/spooge. If you do your regular maintenance the EB will last a very very long time. hell you can even mod it with larger turbos and meth to make one hell of a beast truck. I am not rejecting the 5.0 complementary. But why would you buy one just to spend $6 grand on a SC to make it fast? The EB is one hell of a motor even for towing, just with a simple tune. And the tune is only $500-600.

Some guys on the F150 forum said you need to drill the EB intercooler for it to drain out water.
Any truth?

Yeah mine was a Sport with the EB 3.5 Maybe something was wrong with mine cause it did have other issues but I do miss it for the comfortably of driving it and the extra room that it had, and I did take it off road a few times which was fun.

Must of had issues. The ecoboost 3.5 has such great lowend tq. The 11-12 3.5 ecoboost did have some bugs and i would pass on them.

Mine was a 14. I bought it used and found out later it had been in some kind of accident that wasn't disclosed on anything. I mean it did have a little bit of get up and go, just wasn't as fast as I thought it should be.
