Need some help. I've had the Astro A40 tr's for about 6 months now and have had nothing but issues with them. At one point I couldn't get the audio clear with just the USB plugged in to my PC. I fixed that with using the optical cable connected to my mobo and USB, now the audio is clear and no issues. But now I when I'm in a discord chat while playing a game (within mins), the mic just cuts off. I have to reset the audio settings in discord and or turn on/off the mixamp. Mind you I don't have a sound card and wonder if that's part of the problem?
If anyone can help that'll be great. If nothing works I might just look for a new headset.

Or buying a separate mic like the audio Technica AT2020 USB.

Not a major update but I added a 55" 4k TV above my 27's. The extra real estate is awesome. Still not done yet, I want to add some LED'S. The monitor on the left reset to a warm color temp somehow, I fixed it after I took the pictures. View attachment 1459084View attachment 1459085

Dam no way! I have. And all they have done is send me a "different" USB cable and now they're sending me a "different" optical cable. And they've told me twice on how it should be set up in the playback settings. But it continues to happen.I’ve got a set of A40s as well as A50s, and I have the same issues. Have you contacted Astro directly?
I do, lol.My god I could spend days in front of those screens

Lmao! I feel you. I used my A50s when I first got my PC running and everything was smooth. Every since I connected the A40s, nothing but issues.Yeah I had issue after issue with them....so I switched to turtle beach and haven’t had a single issue....literally plug and play. So now I have some $800 worth of Astros that are paperweights. Hahahaha

Which turtle beaches do you have, if you don't mind me asking.

Fosho. Thanks man, appreciate the information.I actually dumbed it down a few levels - Turtle Beach Stealth 350 is what I’m using now. Literally plug and play
I was thinking of getting that AT2020+ USB. But I mean, I just use it for gaming with friends. Would it be extreme for me to get the AT2020?Astros are notorious for having issues, especially on PC. I switched over, bought a Audiotechnica AT2020+ (usb model) and bought a FiiO E10K DAC and use Sennheiser HD598SE's. Never have had an issue, sound is crystal clear & quality is amazing.

I might just go that route than man. I have some audio Technica mx50s I can use with a similar set up you have. Appreciate the infoI use it for gaming with friends, its not extreme. Your Astros were what, $250-300? The mic is $149 on amazon. Whether you decide to revamp everything and get rid of those Astros is up to you, but to solve mic issues, No getting a stand-alone mic isn't extreme.
