Good start. I guess Chicago auto show next month?
Cool to see the '67 GT500, ours looks the same but in Lime Gold.
Power guesses? Hope to beat the Hellcat 707 and maybe make the Demon's 808hp sweat.
Can't wait to see details!

772+HP, if the Easter egg in the '18 brochure is to be believed.

... And the wing, well they could have just put the R wing on it as far as that goes cause they nailed it good on the R.

The R wing would cause the front end to go "light" at speed. Looking at the teaser shots, the GT500 isn't going to have an aggressive front splitter like on the R. From the looks of it, the GT500's rear wing is only taller at the outboard edges. The R's wing is taller overall and appears to have more surface area and a much taller rear up-kick than this one.

There are just two or three things I need to know now; 1) what transmission(s), 2) what's it weigh, and 3) will there be a subsequent R/KR variant? If there's going to be an R/KR, I'll wait for that one before I buy.

A few quick thoughts:

1) Noticed no "Brembo" on the brake caliper shots. Weird.
2) Not a fan of the hood vents at all.
3) Don't like the ricer wing.
4) Guessing 755HP/665TQ
5) Rear tires better be at least 305s
6) I hope there is an option other than the black wheels
7) Thank you Ford for a front grill this time! ('13/'14 owners know what I'm talking about here)
8) Front end fascia looks great.
9) Will have to wait about a year after first cars are delivered to get one at MSRP or below.
10) Is it just me, or did the video feel cheesy? I think Ford should have called up Dodge and used the same video/editing guys they did on the Demon.

Patiently awaiting more information and pictures. Thank you, Ford.

There's more than one way to create down force.

Vents on the outside of the headlights likely are shaped to create down force similar to what's done on the Ford GT. It looks like there are canards in the lower fascia.

Logo on the brakes were probably intentionally left out of the rendering.

I'm disappointed that it doesn't have the fender gills like on the prototype test car(s). But that might be something coming to/with the aforementioned R/KR variant.

Also, now that I've watched the video with the audio on, IT SOUNDS LIKE A REVVER!! Yay!!!! Then again, I didn't hear any supercharger noise, so those engine noises can't be taken at face value.

Correct, but the FGT also has an active front splitter. I think as designed, the front of this rendering is more for channeling air around the car with a little bit of downforce as a side benefit. I don't think the R's wing would work cohesively with that nose design.

I wouldn’t get too caught up on the sounds and what not on the video. That by no means is a raw video. The only real thing we can deduce is there will definitely be a GT500 and it will be bad ass.

The R wing has a higher AOA, but is mounted pretty low, even if it is an actual airfoil shape. The GT500 wing appears tall (in the clean air), and with an actual airfoil + endplate design, i'd expect it puts down the same or greater downforce than the R wing.

That being said, any wing mounted to the trunk lid is only creating superficial downforce anyways...

That ducted hood (looks like snake scales, i kind of dig it) will also create a significant amount of front downforce if it's ducted off the radiator, which i fully expect it to be.

I wonder if they were able to mount the wing far enough outboard to add some sort of support under the decklid to more effectively transfer down force.

Or surprise, there is no functional trunk lol.

Well done comments, TOB! Makes me really look forward to hearing more about this venomous beast. So far the only thing I'm up in the air with in the "up in the air" rear spoiler. Would be nice to offer customers another option closer to what you get with the GT-350R. Not everyone is going to be tasting 170+mph, because no doubt the tall spoiler is needed to attain the new top speed.

High wings normally hinder top speed not help in achieving it. Surely Ford will offer at least 2 options since their showing a high wing like that first thing. Someone responsible for those decisions has to know that not everyone will want that.

Yeah I wish they had offered a low wing on my ACR...

Said no one ever.

I'm all for functional aero, and completely against 'appearance' aero.

Wings aren't meant to increase top speed. They are meant to increase grip, and thus increase average cornering speed.

And THAT is why I'm saying this is going to be a roadcourse car more than a drag car.

Could be completely wrong. Guess we'll find out.
