Anyone sell their 13 or 14 and go to a 03 cobra?

I have a 03 Cobra heavily modded and a 14 Shelby mildly modded. Honestly I drive my 03 and foxbody twice as much as my Shelby. Now I love them all and hopefully I'll never have to sell any of them. But each one has their own unique characteristics. So like already stated it boils down to personal preference.

I’ve never been a fan of the dash, seats, or shifter position of the Terminators. Could never get past those issues so I have never owned one. I do like the exterior of the 03/04. 2013 Shelby has much cleaner looking interior w far better Recaro seats. If I could afford a 2nd toy it would no doubt be a 92/93 LX Coupe.

Solid Fox driver is great. I found a mint 70k Teal Cobra with great driver mods (AFR heads, ‘03 anniversary brakes, mild suspension) and got 22mpg on 7hr drive home.
You forget how slow they are though, so I sold the drivetrain to my friend with a survivor ‘84 GT and it’s getting a ‘15+ Coyote with small Vortech, T56 and Cobra IRS. Not touching anything else :)
Feels like a go cart compared to GT500

Nice stable man. I saw your pics in the svt app thread. Nice collection. 65 GT350? Two 93 Cobra’s, a 12 5.0, and 14GT500 as well as an LX 5.0?

Some are friends and brothers cars in my garage.
Red ‘93 is a good friends that my dad and I restored as a mild wreck and my friend bought and built.
‘12 is my friend Scott Hasty and his nasty TVS 6R GT.
My brothers have a ‘90 White coyote coupe and ‘86GT turbo Terminator.
My 4 are the ‘66 GT350H, ‘91 LX True street, ‘93 Cobra and ‘14 GT500.
Happy to be able to have a stable.

Awesome man. I saw what you posted for your plans for the 93 start a build thread that would be bad ass. Very nice collection. What are the details on the 66GT350H all original?

Thanks man, much appreciated. ‘66 is a real H I remember helping my dad pull out of a local barn at age 10. He also has a ‘67 GT500 we will finish restoring.
‘66 will go back to original black/gold and do solid roller 347/T5 handling street fun deal or run with the rent a racer theme and do retro Paxton and C4 street/strip. Like almost all but 50 Hertz cars it’s a C4 auto.
So feel blessed to have been in the game a while and have fun with family and friends doing it.

Bimini ..and 03Cobra ...you guys are awesome ! It's difficult to even follow this thread after seeing your cars :)->) !
NewTo....never owned an '03 but understand your attraction. Besides the internals the smaller low squat body style alone looks so darn aggressive today. Given you have the tires, if you made the small investment jump to 410's on your '13 this might lengthen the bridge to change.
In the past I owned 3 over powered Cobra kit cars. Sometimes I still miss that rough ride, raw HP, steering wheel connection to the edge of my rear tires kit car go kart feeling. But I wouldn't swap that for my GT500 just yet. Instead I hold on to the goal of someday having both in my garage.
Keep the dream. First try the gears and let 'em rip.

OP i suggest keeping your Shelby and either pay it off, then find another 03-04 to have as another mustang. I was in your same position awhile ago. I figured I'd buy a 93 cobra...then sell the gt500 so I could do a coyote swap or dart 363 or something. Well, i bought the 93 before selling my gt500, then decided holy shit this car feels old, it's slow, i feel huge in it...i don't remember it being like this when I was a teenager in my old foxbody. So inturn, I sold the 93 cobra after barely having it. Then I felt myself still wanting one, so I just bought another one lol. The circle never ends. So I'd suggest having both to keep you happy. You will regret not having one of them. BUT, if it works out better financially to get the 03-04. Do that.

Not exactly the same but I sold my '08 Bullitt, a car I deeply enjoyed, for a '14 GT Track Pack. W/a few simple bolt-ons, that car offered me more performance than I needed. It was well built, quiet & solid. A real sleeper-performer for a daily driver.

And yet... I never fell in love w/that car. It had zero charisma & attracted no attention. W/my Bullitt, not a week went by when someone didn't flash me a thumbs up or stop me & ask in a hushed, somewhat reverent tone, "Is that a Bullitt?" to which I responded, "Why yes it is," a smile beaming across my face.

I thought about getting another Bullitt & almost did, until someone suggested I drive an '07-09 gen GT500. (The '10-14 GT500's were outta my price consideration range & I like the '05-09 gen S197's appearance better anyway.) Well, didn't take long before I got hooked on the blower whine & torque of the GT500 & w/the wife's secret concurrence (she didn't know I was shopping but suspected) I found my perfect car sitting in a dealership in Dallas, TX- a white/blue '09 w/a mere 3200 miles on the odo, somebody's garage queen.

Sold off my '14 GT/TP, took a beating & bought a one way ticket to Dallas. Drove the new girl home immediately upon signing the final paperwork & have had ZERO regrets about ridding myself of the '14 & going, uh, backwards.

The GT500 fuflills all my car hopes and wants but, heaven forbid, should something happen to it, I've been eyeballing some Azure Blue '04 Mach I's as replacement, as well as a few other Stangs. But while I own it, I'm enjoying the attention it brings, and it gets far more attention than the Bullitt ever did.

So is it ok to go back? You betcha. Drive what makes your heart sing. Anybody can drive an Accord.

That was a long read but I see where you are coming from. The Azure Blue Mach? Find a nice one & you will be in love. They are great cars.
Then, after that purchase, drive a 13/14 Shelby. Your expectations of fine fast Fords will be met.

I have had both at the same time. My 13 GT500 and my 04 cobra, now I will say 04 cobra was a shit box so I never got the chance to enjoy it as much as I hoped, but I love the 13/14s, in my eyes they're the modern day terminators. You just can't beat how easy it is to make 700whp.

I just wish the blower would scream like they do on the 03/04's. And I wish we had a top-loader shifter instead of this remote BS, other than that, nah, Shelby for me.

Do you have any mods?
MGW Gen 2 and lower crank pulley and CAI to get both of your wants.
Nothing screams like a stock pullied Eaton, but the TVS still sings and is WAY more efficient doing it.
