Others have had this happen to them. No matter what lube they used after the whine began, it didn't go away from what I have read. More viscous lubricants will quiet noises, but at the expense of cool/cold performance.

Thanks...........
I'll try a quart of MTG

Since I haven't seen it discussed here yet...
I have been seeing a lot of people trying a mixture of the Amsoil Synchromesh MTF and 75w-90 API GL-4 MTG in the MT82 trans. The mix is 2 qts of MTF and .7 qts of the gear oil. This combo was and is recommended by Ben Calimer from his experience with rebuilding the MT82. Everyone who has tried it says it is a big improvement.
I'm curious what Unleashed thinks about this mix, as so far all I've seen from Amsoil "experts" is "we do not recommend mixing fluids as we do not know what will happen"
I just bought the combo and am willing to get a sample after a certain amount of time to check on the results.

Yes I've put about 1k miles on with this fluid, including an SCCA track night at Pocono Raceway. I would say that it is a noticeable improvement, but not a night and day difference.
I have a 2014 model so I presume it had the latest "revision" of Ford fluid in it from the factory.
The fluid swap was very easy on jack stands with a fluid transfer hand pump.
There is still some nibble present on colder days, though it seems to take less time for the transmission to "warm up" and stop nibbling. Once warmed up, shifts seem to drop into gear smoother. The sides of the trans tunnel inside the car seem to be giving off less heat than I remember.
This stuff isn't exactly cheap, so I won't be doing any samples until I am ready to change it again. However, I definitely recommend giving it a shot.

I tried BG SyncroShift II and it was an improvement over the OEM Ford fluid!!

I have Redline DCTF in it now and it's even better with no whine and little or no notchiness when cold!!;)

If there is any it's in the very first 2-3 shift and ONLY for that first cold shift!!:D

I'm running Amsoil MTF and it is way better at operating temp. When below 40 degrees it will nibble on the first 2-3 if I shift too quickly. After about a 1/4 mile everything loosenes up and it's smooth sailing.
