Most guys doing a lower damper go with a longer ARP damper bolt over a new factory Ford bolt from what I've been reading.

I found this thread:

https://www.svtperformance.com/forums/threads/check-your-lower-pulley-bolt-pics.1001322/

The factory bolt is only 85mm long and apparently it is too short when swapping to a IW or ATI damper.

On post #13 that individual mentions that ARP #674-1010 bolt also works to install a new damper. That bolt is 90mm long.

Can someone confirm that the above ARP bolt part # can be used to install a new damper on the trinity engine?

The factory bolt is 90mm, but it's only threaded as far as 85mm. I got an ARP bolt from MMR, but I didn't measure it before installing. As far as aftermarket balancers needing a longer bolt, I don't think that's the case. I don't think 90mm is too long, but you might verify the bolt is not not bottoming with a thinner washer before torquing.

This is very interesting. I will be buying that kinetik setup shortly. I am currently running the ARP bolt but I like the idea of using all the threads with a single keyway and an overdrive damper.

Here's a better look at Kinetik's crank saver stud:

https://kinetikmotorsport.com/collections/2007-2014-gt500/products/kinetik-crank-saver

click "details" for install instructions

It does look like a nice setup but that price is a little nuts for a special stud and 12 point hardened nut, but the bad side of using the wrong bolt or improper install would cost you A WHOLE LOT MORE!!!!

We need a GP for this, I would be in for one under a group pricing strategy.

While expensive, I'd highly recommend that Kinetic kit. I have a low mile IW 15% if anyone wants to save some cash, PM me. SFI and lifetime rebuildable.

Second on the Kinetik kit. Have one installed on my engine. It’s a nice piece.

Since I brought up the GP thing I could email them about it and see what they say.

The only thing is I'm heading out for a vacay so I'll deal with contacting them after I return (somebody feel free to contact them sooner if you want and update here, otherwise I'll do it when I get back). Part of my vacay is to tour VMP and meet JS.

What do you guys think is a decent price for that kit under a GP plan? How many would be interested in one if there was a GB for it (post here if you are)?

J, too bad you don't have a 10% IW, if you did I'd be interested in it. What are you using now if you don't have the 15% one on your engine? Does your car have TP?

Went to a new dual keyed 15% on the new bullet. Just let JDM do their thing.
My tuner then used my shortblock to build for his car and he had track pack so no 15% and no in a sweet stash of spare parts I'll be listing to pay for the 1500hp Coyote build for my Fox

Yeah I'm on holidays but I figured I get this going, chances are replies won't happen from them till after the NYH stuff is done. This is what I contacted them with:

"Hi, I have a question on your Crank Saver stud kit for GT500 engines.

I am a member of a message board called SVTPerformance, I started a discussion on damper bolts and your item came up. I've stirred up some interest in your product and was wondering if there is any kind of a group buy pricing program avail to members for this part?

I'm sure if some kind of GB pricing strategy is implemented you can sell quite a few of these.

Please let me know how you would like to proceed on this and I can inform the membership and we can get something happening with this. Thanks for your time."

I hope this gets the ball rolling.................response incoming (hopefully).

Tony

edit: this thread address was provided to them for their viewing pleasure, so post here if you are interested in getting one under a GB if one is offered.

This thread also posted in SVT GT500 section.

I have a reply:

"Hey Tony, appreciate the interest. If you can put together at least 10 buyers, I am willing to do 15% off. I would just need the email addresses each buyer will use to place their order, and I will create a coupon code to apply the discount for those addresses."

I am currently in the middle of emails with Mitchell (at Kinetik) sorting out details, I will have more info to post up later this aftn. So far we're pretty close to the 10 we need but the more the better so if interested in the GP post here. I will have another thread specific to the GP once I hear from Mitchell later.

Tony

edit: Kinetik ships 2 day USPS, quotes for 48 state shipping is $8-11 for the part depending on where you are (they are in Texas).
