I liked it. Some dumb shit and whatnot, but I like that Luke died the way he did. Wondering what they are going to do with Leia since Carrie Fisher has passed away. Snoke's demise was anticlimactic, and they didn't build his character at all during TFA, so not sure what/who he was or why he rose to power.

My son and I went to see it but my wife and daughter have not seen it yet. We came home talking about an epic battle between ewoks and jawas...my wife was like "you can't be serious?!?!?" LOL

My favorites (in order):
1. Return of the Jedi
2. Empire
3. A New Hope
4. The Force Awakens
5. Rogue One
6. The Last Jedi
7. Attack of the Clones
8. Phantom Menace
9. Revenge of the Sith

Nothing comes close to the first three.

When IX come out, i believe maybe 10 or 15, maybe 20 years will have passed and Leia will have died naturally. It going to take a while to build up a rebellion.

My favs in order:

A new hope
Rogue one
Return of the Jedi
Empire strikes back
The Force Awakens
The Last Jedi
Revenge of the sith
Clone Wars
Phantom Menace

not at my post...
I don’t think Carrie Fishers passing will have much impact on IX. The way they resurrected Peter Cushing for the Moff Tarkin role in Rogue One was just short of amazing. I wasn’t as impressed with the CGI they did for a young Leia at the end of Rogue One. They came up short and I feel like they didn’t put as much effort into it as they did for Tarkin. I think they will be able to do a good enough CGI older Leia for IX, at least for enough screen time to kill her off. The real question is whether or not Fishers family/estate will let the Disney do that.

Off topic but is it just me or was 2017 one of the most disappointing film years?
Of the movies I went and saw I think only Spider-Man was disappointing. But let’s be honest, you’re pretty negative about movies. I’m no sure I’ve ever seen a positive review from you.

I thought this movie was garbage, much worse than Justice League. All the PC stuff, and WTF was wrong with Luke? He turned out to be a turd. The best commander they had was a woman in a cocktail dress?

Will not go see the next SW

Listen to mark hamill's Interview. He wasn't happy at all with how luke was written.

Also, I got goosebumps watching the avengers infinity war trailer before the movie. That trailer alone was better than the star wars movie

The jokes....oh boy
The CGI Carrie Fisher...nope
The mushy and long Luke and Leia exchange (while the door is being kicked in)
Needless "Rose" character
No training for Rey by Luke
Time to release Space horses
And in a galaxy far far away, they have slot machines?

I did not buy into the starship running out of energy, while the other one couldn't catch up, while the fighters couldn't attack it? Huh?

I can keep going....

I've been waiting to see the movie so i could come in this thread, and it let me down about like the movie did...

I do always have high expectations for movies, and very few movies blow me out of the water, but this was just bad ... especially coming off a grand slam like rogue one.

My wife pointed out that the entire point of this movie was character development, but i have a lot of problems the rest of you had as well:

1. The entire movie was pointless. The entire movie they're just crawling away, getting shot at while this POINTLESS side mission happens. Just get to the base and show us a good ole fashioned star wars fight like we want to see.

2. All the unanswered questions. Rey's parents, who the F is Snoke, and just everything that was built in TFA was basically pointless. That's frustrating, it seems like they're handing each movie to a new director and writing team and not letting them talk to the previous group so they have no idea where the story is going.

3. I see where they were trying to go with Luke, but he was a badass Jedi and he basically just did nothing in this movie and gave nothing to Rey. My one plus on this movie is Rey did a very good job of essentially carrying this movie by herself. I'll be honest, so far 7 and 8 dont even hold a candle to 1, 2, and 3, and we all know what a train wreck those were.

This is paraphrased heavily, and i didnt hate it but i really felt they could have done something great here and they dropped the ball.

Pretty much. JJ Abrams needs to stick to star trek.

I saw this movie on Saturday. Very meh...

Two points (spoiler alerts): First; Benicio Del Toro appearing in this film makes me think we are trying to bridge the gap and make SW part of the Marvel universe (he is the collector/keeper of the infinity stones) and SECOND; the purple hair feminist and Princess Leia are the mothers of Rey. Both are total barf ideas for the SW universe.

Rey fighting alongside Thor to avenge her lesbian mother(s) death. Star Wars XI. I think they use illuminated dildos instead of light sabres in the next film.

Just remember: white men are bad and you'll pretty much understand the point of this movie.

Saw it last night. Complete garbage. Worst SW movie in the franchise. Rey is such a May Sue it’s sickening. Terrible storytelling. Weak character development. In fact only Kylo had any real development. Everyone else regressed IMO, especially Luke. I will not see EP9 in theaters.

Maybe I didn't pay attention but how did the victorious rebellion (ROTJ) revert back to where it was in ANH? Was that another Abrams wonder?

His Star Trek infantile. This is Trek at its best:

Yeah, that's a plot point that makes zero sense.

I don't get why people have a problem with Luke exiling himself after the loss of Kylo Ren to the dark side and the destruction of his new Jedi Order when Yoda did the same after Darth Sidious turned Anakin and wiped out the Jedi Order.
Yoda was old and actually TRIED to stop the Emperor. Luke did none of that and hid when Snoke got to Kylo Ren. Obi Wan at least injured Anakin and left him to die or so he thought. They both hid the Skywalker twins and watched over them until it was time.

Luke did NONE of that. He gave up and tried to kill his nephew who was barely tapping into the dark side and unlike Yoda, seemed like he did nothing to stop Snoke. Also, his best friend got killed and his sister was in danger, all it took was an old hologram from Leia to train Rey for 2 days? At least Luke had some training with the Force and lightsaber from ANH thru ESB (3 years).

Luke didnt give up with Darth Vader who killed millions of people and was clearly a "Sith". Kylo Ren? Oh yes, lets kill him instead of trying to save him like his father.....

The Last Jedi already has the biggest 2nd Week drop of all time (almost a 70% drop!) making under 100 Million. Still strong 2nd week, but very "weak" for a franchise like this.

JJ Abrams didnt make this movie. I didnt love TFA but it at least brought some new story lines to the series that had potential for future movies to explore only for TLJ to crap all over it.

Sure, it did one thing right, moved the franchise to a whole new direction but not in a good way at all.
