If your sons TV isn't 4k and you have no plans on getting 4k, don't bother with the X. Get the S.

If you have 4k tv set and you want the most out of the system get the X.

I have Xbox One, One S, and One X.

Tip for those with xbox, sign up for bing rewards and do the daily stuff for points, turn those points into xbox live credit/xbox live subscription. I can't remember the last time I paid for a game or live service...

Eh, the games would run a lot smoother and the AA would look smoother. I have a PS4 Pro, the slight faster loading times, smoother FPS on certain games, and some games look a bit cleaner make it for it. Sold my PS4 for it and was worth it IMO.

I renewed my GCU as well during it but even without it, still would've been about $520. GCU is only useful for games.

A Switch is 299.00 unless you bought a Mario or Zelda bundle which would justify the price since you'd now have three games. The 20% off also applies to those goofy amiibo, believe it or not.

Thanks for all the replies, I really appreciate it. I picked up the X at Wal Mart this morning along with an extra controller. I figure I'd wait to get games until he opens up the box and let him pick a couple out we could download on Christmas rather than getting one he may not want. Merry Christmas all!

If you got the One X, you should have gotten a code for PUBG for free. I haven’t played it yet. But it’s the best selling game of the year. Should be a good time provided the patches are timely.

I'm completely in the dark when it comes to the purpose/goal of PUBG besides what is shown in commercials.

It’s 100 man free for all, trying to be the last man standing. But player unknown : Battle Grounds is literally an unfinished game. So you get all sorts of bugs : dying when you shouldn’t, not dying when you should, etc etc

Fortnite is so much more complete

Does he already have a Desktop? If so, explain to him it's time to man up and get new friends. Join the superior world of PC gaming.

PUBG is amazing. I'm addicted to it. I am terrible at it.

I also added the extra controller (Joy Con to be exact). At the time I was unaware of the joy con’s being split into two until after lol So they now have 4 controllers which is fine for me for when the relatives come. Never collected Amiibo nor am i familiar with them at all.
