I really don't understand your angle. A person dumb with money is going to be stupid with it regardless of source. There is a measurable benefit to using a card responsibly.

You're working under the assumption that a person's income covers all their necessary monthly expenses and only uses the card to buy useless stuff?

I don't get it either, I fly for free with the Southwest Companion Pass simply by buying everything with my wife's Southwest credit card. It's stuff we buy anyway, and it's paid off every month. Never a penny of interest paid.

I would definitely call it a benefit.

Not at all. If you cash to purchase you are far better off and will save far more money.
When people don’t use credit they have money for all necessary expenses.

Lol, not people who are bad with controlling their spending living paycheck to paycheck. Those are the people that get into CC debt.

It is stupid to not have available credit. It is also stupid not to have an emergency fund. Your thought process seems to be predicated on magically having an emergency fund.

Use a credit card with cash back features with where your at with your credit. 788 is very good, but sounds like income limitations may hold you back on some cards. PNC Visa Everyday Rewards is great a great card to own. I have a few cards ( Amex, Delta Amex, Mastercards , Visas) to choose from and have excellent credit.
My wife and I are big Amex fans. Always keep in mind and general rule of thumb, spend on your card what you can pay off the next month. Take advantage of perks and additional warranties.

Explain how AMEX is making me lose money.
You buy more with credit than cash. We know this because it is fact. That’s why stores pay up to 3% to the bank to take their credit.

They pay this extra money because you will pay way more than the 3% they lose in buying things they don’t need if youre paying with your credit card.

The banks then give you 2% back to even make you buy more crap you don’t need.

Then if your late with your payment you get late fee and 20%+ interest charge. It’s a fun shill game.

I don't buy more than I would if I used cash. So try again.

You do even if you don’t know it. Your thinking changes when you need to pull cash out. It’s not the I’ll put it back next pay period.

As explained in the quote below. The example was I pay for things I need and save 2%.

But believe what you want.
Getting 2% back on a card is nothing. Most banks make 3% or on every purchase then the 20/23% interested when we buy too much.

Once again you will not build wealth on the 2% you get back from the $100k in purchases. You build wealth by saving money and creating interests off those savings.
Instead of spending 100k and making 4K a net loss of 96k. Try saving 20k and then making 10% off the 20k. A net gain of 22k.

Still don’t believe me ask those that have 2 million cash in the bank. How did they do it? Or ask anyone in bankruptcy what got them there?

If you use credit the lender will make money off of you.
True, unless you pay it all off at once, like I do 90% of the time.
It depends on the amount that I put on the credit card.

First off, Amex does charge a higher transaction fee which supports many different and great rewards program for card members.

If you own credit cards, it is your responsibility to buy only what you can afford to payoff each month or take advantage of special financing offers and don’t be late on your payments.

We use Amex all the time and receive cash back, rewards points and cash credits when used at select vendors. Never been late on a payment to worry about late fees.
