Your right but that was what was exciting. The s650 was supposed to be lighter, smaller more geared to be a sports car. Disappointed we may never see it with a gas engine, or at all.
We'll see how it plays out. Hopefully it has no bearing on the upcoming GT500.
I agree Jim.

...you won't have to take my word for it much longer.
Looking forward to getting over this hump and on with the show.

Everything is subject to change. That includes some of the stuff some people in this thread have seen, and a lot of stuff you will now never see.

There are some good things happening due to change, and some things that are, uh, not so good.

I think what interests me most is what could have been. Your mind tries to rationalize how good things could have been were it not for "X."

The "not so good things" suck and I already hate them, whatever they are.

We'll see how it plays out. Hopefully it has no bearing on the upcoming GT500.

I'll drink to that.

Is there a firm date, issued by Ford, as to when the announcement about the new GT500 (or whatever it will be named) will be made? Or is the expected announcement in January simply coming through word-of-mouth?

In either case, what is the date in January that were expecting to hear? I've seen a few references to it but I don't recall seeing a hard date.

Hey guys...can someone summarize the news over the past 2 weeks? I don't want to weed through all the pages of people bickering :)

It's easy... Almost no one knows anything. Those "in the know" aren't talking and people who think they're special are making stuff up and getting called out by reputable people who actually know.

That's the sum of all 68 pages.

A gentleman on another forum discovered what looks to be a bit of an error. Motorcraft mistakenly used CAD images of the GT500 engine instead of the GT350's engine in the connector location section of their online service site.
I found what he did and enhanced them for clarity.

Shows port fuel injection only (no direct injection) as reported earlier by an SVTP mole. No provision for a DI pump is shown such as what the 2018 GT's 5.0L engine uses. Flywheel may be a giveaway as well...

I hope this puts to rest the ‘I doubt it comes’ posts.
Probably gonna get a DCT as well. Now, just to find out how much weight it gains, how cool it stays on the track, how much power it makes while passing emissions. Don’t make 50 state compatible, leave out California and maybe we can gain another 100 hp ;)

How much of an advantage would direct injection be on this setup? I know it allows higher compression, but since most supercharged engines run lower compression, I am wondering how much it would help? Maybe there is too little gain for the price and complexity?

...and too little room. The lower portion of the blower case is likely to be occupying the space where the DI rail and injectors would need to be.

First mod I did to my S197 was to yank my charge motion plate butterflies out. Made my own delete plates out of the stockers. Its supposed to help with low RPM performance, but try having a small screw or rivet flow through your engine and let me know hoe that works out. Plus, even at WOT it messes up the airflow, causing too much turbulence.

Ok, so same shit different day. I really can't see this car being worth the wait. I just can't. It's gonna be cool for sure. But limited in numbers, HUGE ADM to get one, big power from Dodge and Chevy already out there. I can't imagine this thing will be faster in a straight line than a Demon.

Then buy something else. The Demon is a one-hit wonder. If it is faster in a straight line, great, but I’d like to see the GT500 be able to hit the drag strip or the road course, and I’m sure it’ll be capable of doing so.
