Looking to upgrade my springs and struts/shocks on my 2012. The car is pretty much track dedicated so am not real concerned with ride comfort as much as track performance. Looking to get answers on a few questions.

What is a good bang for the buck coilover kit that would be more track oriented than street? I am not looking to spend a thousand dollars per wheel.

What are some good coilover spring rates to use for a track dedicated s197 Mustang?

If I go conventional what are you guys using for a track dedicated spring? Based on the spring rate I'll decide what shock/strut to use

Good question - I'm curious about what any racers are using for conventional rates on the SN95s.

Not that this has any correlation to your platform, but I'm running very short, linear rate AFCO 1350lbs up front and Hyperco narrow diameter (coilover) linear rate 350lbs in the rear.

I'm looking to go just a bit softer to let the car become more compliant over the curbing....I'm just not sure how soft is too soft and I don't want to be chasing spring rates for the next couple seasons.

Are you looking for single or double adjustable?

If you're looking for a good - track damper kit, they start from 2k+. KW is ok, JRI, JRZ, AST, etc.
With that said, with your intentions, i would look into Koni yellows and H&R springs(most agressive spring rate).

I just switched to JRI dampers - 600lbs up front and now switching to 200lb up back with an 18mm rear sway bar.

ended up going with Maximum Motorsports springs, one of the stiffer rates I could find, and Koni single adjustables.

From what I can tell double adjustables are not made for the s197 cars.

I ran it at RA like this and it felt good. I wish it sat about 1/2" higher though. My H-Pipe scrapes the ground more than I like and I have to be strategic when loading and unloading the car.

There are many double adjustable coilovers, mine are.
You can always adjust the koni's, they work great at the track.
