Any way to contact late 90's SVT engineers?

Hi everyone.

I'm trying to ask around and see who I can possibly talk to that may know about the late 90's SVT ZX2 prototype. There are 2 known photos of it and I'd like to find out what was done to it vs the Focus SVT.

The fact the late 1999 ECU for the ZX2 also adds the ability to control a dual runner intake makes me think that it's possible the SVT ZX2 was originally supposed to have one and possibly it was a starting point for what turned into the Focus SVT. Both being Zetec engines with VCT, it's not to far fetched an idea.

The most I have found is someone claiming to be a Ford/SVT engineer saying that it made almost 200HP from an N/A 2.0 Zetec and was almost as quick as the then new 1999 Mustang GT in the 1/4 mile. (Being only about 2500lbs I can kind of believe that it would run near mid 14's if it really was 200HP.)

Any chance anyone knows anyone or can point me in the right direction? I assume the original car itself was crushed as it's not been seen since, but I'd love any information on it.

Between possibly having a 200HP 2.0 and the 230HP supercharged Roush ZX2 they showed off at SEMA in 2000, Ford could have beaten the SRT-4 to the market and shown Honda that America can do the 100HP/L i4 also. Personal opinion is that it's a shame the projects were canceled to push the Focus. Could have given the Ford Sport Compact market some REAL bragging rights. That's life I guess.

Thanks!

may want to contact the people at Esslinger. I had and S/R with a swapped focus head so that I could run cams on the intake and exhaust side. made 171hp and hit pretty hard at 3500 rpms up (for what it was)
it would have made more but ran out of fuel injectors

Not sure I follow why you did the head swap. I had cams and stock head in my S/R. The SVT head would have given me more flow, but the stock head didn't prevent running cams.

I put out a feeler to Esslinger a few months ago, but never heard back. I may try again.
