Hi all,

I need to change my engine mounts for wear reasons. I am curious if the same year or similar GT mounts will fit the GT500. They seem very similar and I dont want a stiff engine mount. If anyone has changed their mounts to an aftermarket unit, I would like your input as well!

Thanks.

I have my stock take-offs from my 2012, if you’re interested.

I moved to the urethane motor mounts supplied with the BMR K-Member. The noise level has increased but I’m not driving s luxury vehicle.

I would think that the Mustang GT 4.6 SOHC would have different mounts from a GT500 5.4 DOHC. The K-member attachment may be the same (I would guess), but the engine side attachment would probably be different. The height between the 500 and GT mounts may also be different.

It would probably be safest (least hassle) to stay with GT500 mounts IMHO.

I installed UPR for the purposes to have the option to lower the motor so I could remove my cams without pulling the Brake Boost Pump. I have no extra noise or vibration. I did discover a couple of things:
1. Lowered 3/4" and hard braking causes the first gear shifter to pop out of gear. (I have the MGW2 Shifter)
2. Raised to stock height and its slightly taller than with the stock mounts causing my driveshaft to slightly rub the bottom of the MGW2 shifter.
3. The ideal setting is 1/4" lowered which eliminates issue 1 and 2. It also gives me a tad more clearance for my 149mm PMAS.

Yeah I figured maybe the mounts were different, I just wanted to confirm since there aren’t many OE type GT500 mounts available. I guess I’ll maybe get the Ford ones that are double the price or maybe a suggest similar aftermarket set.
