I had an '09. I'm well aware of every "update" and have documented them at length in the GT500 forums here at SVTP.

As for needing any help shifting - cute. I raised the issue but you apparently glossed over it.

That's great if you like how yours shifts. Many GT500 and Camaro owners haven't had the same reaction.

Tob, do you need me to teach you how to drive a manual?

Apparently.:)

The plan is to fly out to your neck of the woods, fork over the moolah, and enjoy the drive back. Maybe you can show me how to do it lest I trash the internals.

A 395 tire? That's almost a 16" wide tire.

On cold tires, I'm sure the 350R could run with 13/14 GT500 from 0-50. With heat in the tires, the R wouldn't touch a GT500.

I think your right. Stock for stock, if its 45 or 50 degrees, the GTR350 will likely beat a 13/14 GT500 in a 0-60. That said I was massively disappointed in the overall acceleration of the GT350, stepping into it from the GT500... but then I discovered road courses. I can tell you that even on a good day, a stock GT500 won't hang with the GT350 on really technical courses. If you have a few big straights... it might turn into a drag race. LOL

He meant 295.... lol

13,

How was your experience with the Trinity transmission?

I have had several cars with the TR6060... 4 Challengers, 2 GT500's and a 2007 GT that I did a swap. They all ran great, but if the remote shifter is not 100% perfectly aligned or if you have trans and engine mounts flexing too far, you can forget the 2-3 shift under a hard load. That said... those aren't the fault of the trans.

Hopefully there is a track weekend out in Topeka when Tob picks up his car. I can help learn him how to shift gears in his new car too :D

I had 0 issues with my 2014 or my 2013.

Thats what I thought ... you must know how to drive proper.

Maybe not that "well aware" since you wanted to compare the shifting experice of an 09 shelby with the 14, making it sound as if they were exactly the same.

Then you use adjectives like "clunky" to further down the TR6060, while admitting to having issues quick shifting at high RPMs.

Again, sounds like you could use some shifting lessons (I'd take 13's offer) or perhaps go automatic?

TR6060s are great trasmissions. Stout and butter smooth (if you know how to drive).

You have much to learn. Good luck on your journey.

Keep telling yourself what you want to believe. They say it builds self-confidence. Sadly, it adds zero to the one's knowledge base. That void is addressed in other, more constructive ways.

Having driven a few TR6060 equipped cars (And my own T56 Magnum in my '69 Mach1), I would definitely lean towards describing their shifting towards "clunky" over "butter smooth".

They aren't bad transmissions tho, I do agree with the term "stout".

Have you experienced a better manual transmission on an American car before?

Here is a breakdown for you:

09 500 TR6060 =/= 14 500 TR6060

Technical knowledge =/= shifting skill

Doubtful you’ll win this one.

- Tob admits to having issues shifting a proper man's transmission.
- Tob gets offered free driving lessons by 13.
- Several people attest to the TR6060's quality.

I believe I already won.
