Great glad he's still here, hoping he recovers.

Yup, all the news outlets now backpedaling. He's still here. But it's bad, because they had declared him brain dead a few hours ago.

I saw him last time he came to Houston, about a year ago. He sounded just as good live as on his albums.

I usually don't give two shits about celebrities, but Petty passing is a real bummer. Probably in my top 3 favorite musicians of all time. He was on my short lost of people I wanted to see in concert

I remember when I heard Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers for the first time (Break Down). An amazing musician. So, so glad I got to see him on tour in April. Thanks for the joy.

Came home tonight, found my old Damn the Torpedoes album and put it on. A little the worst for wear, but the hiss and pops between songs just seemed to make it more perfect. With the lights off, I was once again in an Air Force barracks listening to my record player and writing a letter to my girlfriend.
RIP Tom Petty.

our local radio station does this every week. when i heard about Tom i knew they were going to do him next. they bring in this guy Christian Hand who takes a song and breaks it down into each element/instrument. it can be mind blowing. you heard things you've never heard in the song before. plus, you can really tell how talented a musician is, especially the singer. you hear them singing the song, with NO music.

so the day after TP died, they had him come on and they reviewed Free Fallin. ive been watching the website to see when it was finally uploaded so i could post a link. check it out. also lots of other greats on that page as well. if you play an instrument you will surely appreciate it
