Out doing a normal Saturday loop yesterday and I ran into a cammed FBO 5th gen ss, I couldn't hear if he said heads also not sure.

Ive got a 01 cobra all motor making just under 460rwhp. We played a little at stop light pulls nothing special too much traffic till we hit a interstate out by me.

Did a few 40mph pulls. First run I started in 3rd and it was nearly dead even he pulled out a fender on me and he shifted once so I assumed he pulled from second. My heart dropped when he jump out on me early because I make no real power till 5k+ and third was a bad choice on my part especially at 40. I started too pull him back in then traffic hit. I honestly thought I had enough to put it too sleep in 3rd boy was i really wrong on that thought.

Second pull I kept it in 2nd at 40 again. When we went I pulled out hard on him about a car and a fender on him when I hit 7500 and pulled into 3rd. At this point I couldnt tell if he threw in the towel or missed a gear or just let out. Either way I was far enough out I knew he didn't have anything more too pull back especially after the first race when I started to real him in at the top of 3rd.

Wish we had a chance too clear the air with a third run. But never got it. That first run is bugging me lol.

You guys think the first run or second run is more realistic with these two cars. Figured he's got to be 460+rwhp with a fbo cammed ls3 if not more with head work. He had a pass both of the looked tiny lol I'm 220ish so maybe they've got a little more flesh inside. So I still should have the weight advantage. Unless he was gutted highly doubt that.

Yeah, do tell how you accomplished 460RWHP in an 01. That's 03/04 territory with a pulley and tune. Impressive indeed.

It is a 5.3 flat top with Fox lake ported 03 heads figured id spin it less instead of doing the 5.0L, some special cams actually my own profile . I have a fr500 intake with the flaps pulled never ported it and its top plated for a 98 cobra so I am return style now. The throttle body is a wide oval cobra R ford racing. I'm running out of air again so I either need to port this intake, get a sheet metal or a Sullivan.

I am flat at around 7200 rpm now and pull too about 7600 before it starts too fall, so I have a little more room too grow as I wanted to be peaking at 7500 if I built the 5.3 or 8000 if I built the 5.0L. Little more intake work I should be close too 500rwhp or just under. Its really a turbo build figured get as efficient NA run 10-12lbs Ill be making 800+whp.
