36k cubic feet is alot. I dont think a mini split is going to handle that very well. At least not cost effectively.

I would look into a 3.5-4.5 ton house unit with duct work.

RDJ and others, on split systems, what is generally a fair expectation of price? I'm trying to decide what to do with my 24x24 on AC/Heat. It gets blistering hot here but not extremely cold (usually).

I had mine done just after I had my solar install. The electrician said he would not install anything other than Mitsubishi due to it's being much more reliable than the others. it cost me 5k installed. This is the one I got:

https://www.amazon.com/Mitsubishi-M...TF8&qid=1503119974&sr=1-3&keywords=msz-GE18na didn't buy it from amazon, HVAC guys that installed it picked it up for us

Mitsubishi, Samsung, and York are all good brands. Probably also a few others that I'm not familiar with.

Keep away from Samsung.
I've installed plenty and their failure rate of electronic components is far greater than other brands I've installed.

I know I will use the sunstar for the heat side.

I will call more places around here for commercial ac units, just thought I was over looking something. Thanks for the help guys.

Thanks for the heads up. A friend has one that's been working great, but that's just one person and one AC unit.

I work in the industry. Do yourself a favor and have a few reputable commercial shops in your area come take a look. We fix a lot of "good" deals people get. Usually costing them double what they would have paid if done correctly.
