This isn't exactly the same thing but thought I'd share. The Buick Grand National boys have a "new" way of running E85. They use E100 and cut it down with either Q16 or C121 to "make" E85. I'm not versed in fuels so I can't explain why. I only know this is what they do.

Yes E85 has a higher octane rating, but it requires more fuel to be able to retain the same O2 levels in the exhaust. You'll lean the fuel mixture out, because the PMC will not adjust for the different mixture in fuel properly. You may raise the octane levels, but you may melt a hole in a piston too.

As J stated you'd be better off blending a high octane unleaded racing gas to your tank, but this raises the costs quite a bit over trying to raise the octane with blending pump E85 and 91 octane.

Its a pain, but any complete fuel system rated over 1000 will more than suit your needs. On our cars, its unfortunately a pain in the ass to run E85. If the car is street strip and or also a roll race car, its cheaper to fill will 100 when the need arises.

If your trying to keep up with Whippled Coyotes, you need to step up to a TVS. Youll drag their ass with the torque and the extra 28 cubes. Probably do it on pump gas too.

thanks for all the info. looking for a little more power to keep up with a couple of my buddies with the new 5.0. they both have stage 2 whipple's.

That's a tall order...Stage 2 whipple coyotes make 700-750 to the tire and weigh a couple hundred lbs less than a gt500.

Def going to need a blower upgrade and some.
