I had to reply to your post because my HK experience is opposite of yours. My new HK VP9SK (my regular carry pistol) feels like it was custom made for my hand. I absolutely love how it feels and how it shoots. I know not every make/model is perfect/good for everyone. That's a given. My HK just happened to work perfectly for me.

Just held one of these over the weekend. Its night and day compared to my p2000sk. I actually want to trade my p2000sk in for one but have yet to shoot a sk. How does the SK shoot?

The only guns that I shot are a Glock 19, S&W Shield 9mm and my SK. Of the three, the SK has been the most accurate.....for me. The reason IMO why the Shield is not quite as accurate for me is the thickness of the handle. It is too slim for my hands for a comfortable and solid grip. I'm steadier with the SK.

Make sure and try out a p30sk also. It's basically from what I remember very similar to his vp9 except that it is a 1911. When I held the p2000sk I didn't like the way it felt in my hand as much as the other two.

Here are my two hk's and I love them much.

They say the new shield 2.0 are improved with a much better trigger and easier to change grips. For the money they are great guns but I'd personally buy the hk first then I'd go glock then sig but that's just what works for me.

Just getting into the hobby. I picked up a Dan Wesson RZ-10 1911 about a month ago, and soon after got an itch for a rifle. I just bought a Century arms Ak47. I have tinkered with both. The 1911 got new pearl inlaid grips. I refinished the wood on the AK, added a surplus Romainian hand-guard with foregrip, added a UTG dual rail mount and a unmagnified red dot. So far, I am super happy with both of them. The AK is very rugged where as the 10mm is a fine tuned and (very) well oiled machine. Here are some pics I took/edited.
