Woof, 3 pages of pics redone, what a pain. I have all the pics, just remembering which pics go where and finding them.

Well, boost is still tapering, not sure if belt slip or something else. I am ready to have my car back, so will go back to 3.5 inch pulley on blower and let her buck at the 20 psi/700 RWHP level. IAT at 7,000 RPM was a blistering 112F on this run. Will think about pulleys and maybe reattack at a later date. This was with a 6.5 inch lower and a 3 inch upper. Might have to get a 7 inch lower.

OK, talked to Danny, I thought the dyno Danny sent me was the final effort, it was not. Timing was only at 20 degrees.

No worries manuel

I am not mad at anybody.

Danny will see if reclocking the tensioner on the plate is doable for a little more pretension. Danny and Manuel will then perk up the tune some more, and we will see what happens next week.

I will say I totally underestimated the how much time putting all the fiddly bits together on this build by A LOT.

Stay tuned guys.

Looks like clocking the tensioner should be doable. The tensioner is already on the innermost setting. Looks like putting another hole below to spin the tensioner should be no issue.

Well, went down and talked to Danny. He pulled the tensioner off and decided he did not want to reclock with where it would end up. They did give her some more timing and HP was around 830 and torque was over 700. If they lean it a little and could capture the couple pounds of lost boost, might make 900.

Gonna put the bigger upper on so I run around on the street and have my fun. Will probably come up with a bigger lower and matching upper to find the sweet spot on belt wrap.

IAT's are essentially not a concern with 7,000 rpm temps of 112F, even at 26 psi tapering to 24 psi. With these temps and ignite 114, the motor has a tremendous safety margin, even with all the timing she can take.

Danny and I are both very pleased with how degreeing the cams at 112 has made power delivery smooth and controllable. Exactly what I wanted for on the street and strip.

One thing that was a little aggravating was my Santhuff struts. There was absolutely no way to align the car with their billet top plate, which they charged me to upgrade when I sent them in. They also didn't return phone calls to the shop to see what they had to say for suggestions to fix the issue. MM had never worked with Santhuff struts, yet they came up with the solution working with Danny. Great customer service there. Had to use a Maximum Motorsports caster/camber plate kit and another of their spring perch kits to solve the issue.

The good news is that the car is perfectly aligned.

Loaded my turbo setup against the SC setup. No surprise that it is easier taking off from stop lights :). The turbo was doing some work too.

Been thinking about belt wrap and looking at other setups and how much wrap they have. Also looking at fixes and how they were accomplished. Couple that stand out was the add a pulley bracket for GT500 and pulley fix for CTS-V that go to a larger lower.

It seems to me that what I am thinking about would work. It looks like I easily have enough material thickness and it is braced to boot.

CTS-V guys need a 50MM/2 Inch pulley, and there are several 10 rib on the market.

I suppose I might need to backfill the chamfered hole with aluminum JB weld and file flat, or could use a thin washer. The tensioner is in the inner position, so it could move out, if needed.

Hey Weather Man,
Just read the entire thread...You have been through the wringer!
Very nice build, something to be proud of...I also own an S197 '08 GT500, 25k on the clock and a plethora of bolt ons. I am about to hit the toolbox and upgrade to a '14 TVS 2.3 from a Super snake conversion (500 mile)already got the Billet pro elbow and 2.4 pulley, getting the supporting bits together, mainly fuel pump booster and a new giant heat exchanger with fans, not to the rebuild /crack the case on the motor yet. I think my 5.4 is a little bit stouter from the start so I feel pretty safe upgrading to 18-22 lbs boost with the right tune and such
I to still like the s197 body lines and when I run my fingers from the hood to the kickout on the tail, it still calls my name. Very nice car, I would like to build a dedicated street car and not mod mt GT500 anymore but, I may add a GT350 to my stable in time as that car is a car guys porn, stock. Keep us advised and between the ditches, great write up. oB
