Thread revival...

So the M50A works in the 11-14, but you need to move over the intake cams and timing components and the M50A1 is just play and play, correct?

Why is the M50A1 $1,500 more? Wouldn't it be way more cost efficient to buy the M50A and move over the required components? Assuming everything is in good working condition of course.

I took the answer to be if you use the M50A1 you don't need to change the cams or the timing. Some people probably don't want to mess with cams and timing or don't feel comfortable doing the job.

Oh okay. I gotcha. In my case, I’m replacing the OPG and the crank sprocket, so mine as wel save the $1,500 and change over the required items.

So let's get this straight:

When swapping a '15+ short block and using '11-'14 timing components....

You need to use the crank sprocket for the '11-'14.

OPGs for either gen 1 or gen 2 will work fine.
