Which Alternator route?

So I got my car dyno tuned yesterday.
All was good except I was loosing charging above 5500 rpm.
Before 5500 rpm it was around 13.4-13.5 Volts. Then once around 5500 rpm started going down to 11.5 volts.
Tuner said I need to get my alternator fixed and then can do another pull.
He said like I have red here that this is a common problem with these cars and they are over spinning at high rpms. I know the heat kills these alternators too.
My car only has 15K miles on it but I guess I have seen some alternators go sooner than that.
Anyhow I was going to just get a new Ford OM alternator and use the 3.0 metco alt pulley to slow it down a bit. Im still on the stock crank pulley OD.
or just keep the same 2.6 alt pulley with the new alternator.
What are your thoughts?
I don't think I want to do the aftermarket alternators after lots of readings here. Not a guarantee in my opinion.

All the motorcraft ones are remans. I wouldn't suggest putting a larger pulley on the alternator with a stock crank pulley.

HE WIL STILL DO 3G....HE HAS BEEN RUNNING ONE ON HIS CAR FOR NEARLY A YEAR WITH NO WIRING UPGRADE I BELIEVE AND STILL OK
SEND HIM A PM, HE WILL QUOTE YOU....THEN GET A WIRING UPGRADE FROM JUSTIN WHEELER AND YOURE SET.

Hopefully the post right below your question answered it, but even though he added that to my thread, I don't have any knowledge of what he does. If it works out, it's a good alternative, but in a pinch, the V-6 alternators are still easy to score.

I'm running a nation's alternator with external regulator. I've only had it on the car for a year. Idle I have it at 14.3-14.7 volts.

I went with Justin Wheeler's 200 amp custom alternator. He's fairly well known on Facebook and I was referred to him from about 7 different people. Installed mine a couple weeks ago and it works beautifully! Will be doing his wire upgrade which I purchased as well when I have a free day

I guess I'm the odd man out. My car had 59k when it went in for blower upgrade and they said my alt was weak so I agreed to go ahead and replace it. They said the OEM one would be fine and it's a high end mustang shop not just some grease monkey store so that's what's on mine. They ordered it from a big Ford dealership right up the road. Just looked and it was $200.87

The metco 3.2 alt pulley is what I changed to to slow things down a bit. I also went with Justin Wheelers 200 amp alt and wiring upgrade and have been amazingly pleased. I've had no drop in voltage since installing these things. I run my a/c and radio and lights and still get into the throttle with zero issues with voltage.
