While driving today the tire pressure sensor light came on the car and when I got home I found that my driver side rear tire (Nitto NT05R) had a nail in it. I just want to know if it is safe to plug the hole in the tire (nail is right in the middle) or do I need to replace the tire?

I've plugged several and drove for a long time but depending on how wore it is if it was new I might for a temporary fix then go have it patched on the inside of it but if it's wore down pretty good I'd replace it. This also depends on your driving habbits, if you race it, or daily it. Just my 2 cents

Its a non issue. Plug away. Have had such shitty luck with nails in tires, already lost count of how many times I have plugged, with the autozone DIY kit.

Make sure they use a plug/patch and not just a plug.

Agreed. Plug patch away! I think in California shops have to use the plug and patch. They can no longer just plug. lol.
