Exhaust pipe bent/crushed to 'fit' over axle

Recently bought a nice 2010 Roush GT and the exhaust system has been replaced. I love the x-pipe and Corsa mufflers, but the pipes that goes over axle are wildly deformed by exhaust pipe manufacturer. Obviously, this is to add clearance. But if you look at the pic, you can see that it is not just tweaked a little bit, it is friggin' crushed a LOT.

What do you guys think? Time for new pipes? Or is this a typical over-the-axle pipe?

It will not hinder any performance unless you're boosted and running good numbers; don't worry about it.

Yeah well, that's the thing. It IS boosted and making 625rwhp, so that's ~700 at the crank, which would seem to mandate a restriction-free exhaust. Plus the fact that it's only 2.5" pipe to begin with. I'm thinking there's got to be some restrictions there with those pipes as they are.

Anyway, I ordered a set of over-the-axle stainless 'Pypes' 2.5" mandrel bent from LMR. I have a lift and used to own a couple of service stations back in the old days, so I've done lots of exhaust work. I'll be curious to see if I can get the 'Pypes' to fit in place without having to dimple or bend them. I'll post here with my results on installation, and maybe some pics. I plan on adding two resonators as well.

Thanks all! :)
