Yep. Our own Ben @treynor (yes, you are SVTP property now) was denied one. Weird seeing his collection and how he actually uses it.

If Ben had one of the 1st gen, I imagine he would've gotten one.

But honestly, he might not of. The guys that got them are much larger social media whores than him.

He probably would have been one of the better buyers to regularly display its track capabilities though. I wonder if they are saving a special LM edition for him maybe? Since there is supposed to be a more harfcore version coming.

He would've taken it to the track more...but less people would've seen it.

Ford was going for maximum exposure.

I think Ford was going for maximum passion. With such a low production halo car, they had to make sure the buyers weren't going to have the GT holed away in some Ferrari garage next to 10 other beauty queens.

Obviously not.

I think Nick knows more than we do.

Nope.

Social media presence and previous Ford GT ownership were the highest rated attributes that you could possess in order to get on the list.

I'd be willing to bet your father didn't tick the social media box, but did he get an offer based on his previous Ford GT ownership? Or was he not the original owner of one?

My dad has 0 social media pull lol

He's had 3...two he would've been the original owner but he never registered them, and just left them on MSO. The 3rd he was the second owner.

Not disputing that at all. You kind of hit where I was going with the second part of your answer, about previous GT ownership. I don't have a breakdown, but as a group, I would bet that the Original buyers gut the best treatment, especially the active ones who really drive the cars. Passion. I get that Ford wanted all the free media they could get, but just being a you tube whore wasn't enough to do it. Isn't there also something about ford having first right of refusal on the car if you want to sell it? That's pretty wild.

So how many of these GTs are actually being tracked, or at least street driven, on the regular at this point?

What really gets me is how ford has not released any performance data. This makes me think that they failed to deliver the performance promised. Probably could not beat the ACR.

I don't think Shmee150 owned a previous GT. In fact, I'm pretty certain he said he's never owned a Ford until he bought the new Focus RS last year. He got an allocation for the new GT, and he flips his cars every few months. If there's anybody who didn't deserve one, it would be him. No Ford brand history or loyalty and no car loyalty in general.

The hype has been ongoing too long for that car to ever actually deliver on the promises Ford has made. It is a badass car but I don't think its a world beater.

I used to work for a guy who had the first GT in PA and he tried to pre-order and pay for his upfront and they denied him. Ford flat-out said they were going to people with social media influence...

I get it but don't get it, regarding the social media influence.

Cool, some guy has a YT channel who talks about his GT. 99.9% of his followers could not afford a GT, let alone be on that list. Was it some idea that some SMW would kiss Fords ass on their channel/page and in turn some random dude would want to buy a Ford Focus?
