There was a dealer here in S.FL that had new ZL1s for 10k off... They are now at 8.5k off. One of the rebates expired.

.......
I got screwed by a Ford dealer in '06 on a then new GT500 deal at sticker... Dealer wanted 10k over when the car came in. I bought a new C6 Z06 instead. Then again in '15 on a ordered '16 GT350 that was at msrp... Only to have the dealer hold the order for a later allocation because that wanted over MSRP. I bought my SS sedan instead.
When I replace my Boss.... I doubt it will be a Mustang. I learned my lesson now.

That is some dirty business, not honoring their deal like that. I don't blame you for not wanting to go back. Hopefully that just happened at one place and you can find a new dealer to go through.

Probably because they know nobody will pay adm on a camaro... lol. You really think a Chevy dealer is any different than ford about making as much money as possible?
I know of 2 Chevy dealerships selling both the standard ZL1's and ZL1 1LE's for msrp plus any rebates offered. That's there stand on any model no matter how limited. I have yet to find any Ford dealers that have the same ethics. If there are please share.

Again, that's because people won't pay above that for a camaro and they know it. There are also plenty of ford dealers that even sold R's at msrp that were mentioned on here and mustang 6g. However due to demand getting one was rare.

Exactly correct. I bought my 14 GT500 for 3500 off MSRP, and there were two dealers in Texas offering the same. You have to shop around.

E

PS I ordered my 14
There are hundreds of dealers who sell without ADM.

Reminds me of my dad and the dealer over a GT500 KR.
At first it was agreed to at MSRP.
Then a month later it got bumped to 78k...
Then when it arrived they wanted over 100k.
It sat there for 2-3 years before it got sold probably below invoice based off the #'s that were on the windshield.
Since then, he has bought 5 cars/trucks, zero from that dealer.

Wow, they were trying to make a huge profit on that car.

Please post or message me some of the Ford dealers selling gt350's (non R) for msrp.
I wasn't looking for GT350's, but the RS's were a bitch to get at MSRP for a while when they came out. That has mostly changed.

Here is the "good guys" list from the RS forum, this may not guarantee you'll get a GT350 at MSRP but it could be a start.

California
1. Jim Burke Ford - Bakersfield, CA
2. The Ford Store Morgan Hill - Morgan Hill, CA

Colorado
1. Sill-TerHar Ford - Broomfield, CO
2. Mike Naughton Ford - Aurora, CO
3. Medved Ford - Castle Rock, CO

Connecticut
1. Valenti Ford - Mystic, CT
2. Tasca Ford - Berlin, CT

Florida
1. Dan Gasgarth's Charlotte county Ford - Charlotte Harbor, FL
2. Weikert Ford - Lake Whales, FL

Illinois
1. Jackson Ford - Decatur, IL

Iowa
1. Bill Colwell Ford - Hudson, IA

Louisiana
1. Lamarque Ford - Kenner, Louisiana

Michigan
1. Suburban Ford - Sterling Heights, MI
2. Bill Brown Ford - Livonia, MI

Missouri
1. Chuck Anderson Ford - Excelsior Springs, MO

Montana
1. Archie Cochrane Ford - Billings, MT

New York
1. Vanbortel Ford - Rochester, NY

North Carolina
1. Leith Ford - Wendell, NC
2. Taylor Ford - Waynesville, NC

Pennsylvania
1. John Kennedy Ford - Jenkintown, PA

South Carolina
1. Jones Ford - Charleston. SC

Tennessee
1. Crown Ford - Nashville, TN

Texas
1. Southwest Ford - Weatherford, TX

Virginia
1. Koons Ford - Falls Church, VA
2. Altavista Ford - Altavista, VA
3. Myers Ford - Elkton, VA

Washington
1. Autonation Ford - Bellevue, WA
2. Jess Ford - Pullman, WA
3. Korum Ford - Puyallup, WA
4. Town Ford - Wenatchee, WA

The list is also short because it's been about a year since it was last updated.

Thank you! I'm hoping they will play nice with the GT350 pricing. Local WA dealers have dropped there ADM's on the RS's. Currently 500 under while there still 3k to 20k ADM's on the standard GT350's.

Motor Trend video is up. GT350R won. ZL1 was only 0.39 sec. faster.

https://www.motortrendondemand.com/d...=4271:28032887.

That number bears out what I have expected all along. The ZL1 takes the straights, but the GT350R kills the ZL1 in the corners (and probably braking). Nice! It'll be fun watching the Camaro fanboys explain it away.

This is unexpected and annoying because we have to wait like a month to watch it.

Yeah, the rest of us won't get to see this episode until July. :(

So a 1 trick pony comes close to a jack of all trades in 1 portion of a comparison and it's a huge victory to gloat over? The R got trounced in most other performance metrics. The ZL1 is marketed as a GT car that can be brought to any dragstrip, road course or highway and be competitive. It can even serve as a relaxed DD. Nowhere has GM said this is our ultimate track car which the R is for Ford.

The ZL1 1LE is marketed as a track car. That comparison should be interesting as the excuses will fly from the other side then when several seconds are put on the R at any track.

I like both cars but the ZL1 will most likely be my next purchase as it fits what I do better. I don't care about journalist opinions of being "special" or how it "feels" on a racetrack which is why they picked the R. There are probably 2 people on this forum capable of noticing any difference at 9-10/10ths in either car.

Welcome to SVTP. King of lap times since 2016. I remember the 5th gen ZL1 being a joke when the Camaro clowns gloated over lap times but ignored getting beat by 13 GT500 in every other metric.

Turns out my buddy has a motortrend on demand account. Here are a few points.

The 350R won, mostly due to it being more fun.

The ZL1 is really fast in a straight line and more comfortable. They mentioned the ZL1 feels about 1000lbs heavier than the R.

The lap times were slow for both cars, the ZL1 has almost run 1.5 seconds quicker than it did that day. Not sure if it was hot or what.

I dont know about that, there would be hundreds of people happy with a GT350R and bragging about not paying adm. That car will have ADM no matter what. its only a handful of people that got them for MSRP. And even then, i'm skeptical to believe them. The funny part is my brother is in the car dealership software industry (theres only like 2 or 3). So i can ask him how much someone bragging really paid.

Only in Ford world will the slower car "beat" the faster car.

ZL1 beats the 350R on the road course and the ford fanboys loose their mind and claim "victory"...

Just wait till GMs actual track car (zl1 1le) hits the track and the fanboys will be driving up the suicide rate.

"350R won cause its more "fun"".....

Ahahahahahahahah

Ford's ultra rare, limited production, $90K, MSRP mark up, more expensive, track specialized car goes up against a cheaper, regular ZL1, only to lose and put out the SLOWER time and people call that a win???

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
