The sad thing is, no matter what FORD comes out with, they will probably hold back. It will probably be heavy and under powered. I hate to say it. I hope I'm wrong, but they have always had the opportunity to clean house and be the top dogs, but they hold back for some stupid reason!
The new ZL1 is no joke, and hell cats are pretty fast also. I just hope the new GT 500 is really something else that can whip some pony car Arse!

Enough of these rumors Ford. Shit or get off the pot! So tired of the "rumored" next GT500 power plant. No way it's N/A 7.0 V8. God that sounds so dumb and counter to what Ford is doing EVERYWHERE else.

I love the idea of 427 cubes just because of the history of it but forced induction did away with the need for massive cubic inches. I don't see the possibility of Ford having a head for it that could flow enough to surpass a smaller engine with a blower.
Now, massive engine AND forced induction.....Now you're talkin!
That possibility is even less tho.

I wish they would make a mach 1 with a "return of the cobra jet". Bore and stroke the 6.2 to 428, or as close as possible. Make it a midlevel offering between gt and gt350. Shoot for between 525 to 575hp and set up the suspension for drag racing. You want to turn get a gt with track pack or step up to gt350. I know its a pipe dream but it would be awesome. If you prefer they could do a Boss 429 instead, but I loved the mach 1.

It's more likely now than it was 5 months ago that it'll end up being a twin turbo 5+L. Just my opinion.

And my opinion is also that it would be hillarious to race kanedas hell cat with my turbo cobra.

Why does the ford advertisement keep mentioning a 5.8L? I can't imagine this is a carry over ad fill from 2014...

Isn't the new f150 getting a 5.8L? Maybe ford has put together a 5.8L mach1 or something.

Anyone have any ideas?

Clicking the link leads to nothin but simple info/nothing about a 5.8...

Ford put a copyright on the "ecobeast" name. That label has not been officially used yet..

Depwraith has it. I did some calculations based on mathematics I learned from the divinci code. So here goes:

5.0L v8 tt with 62's it is. The clue of 5.8 online is as follows.

•5.0
•62=8 if done as 6+2
•2 turbos: 8+8= 16, 1+6=7
•the 10spd auto is 1+0=1
•1+7= 8.
5.8
Solved, case closed. Undeniable irrefutable maths and sciences. Hundreds of man hours, millions of tax dollars in research and analytical investment.

Glad I could steal the glory and put this in the books

I'm sure the name is already being used in house. Whether the consumers ever see it is unknown.

I take more solace in what C and D said with a CPC 5.2 with blower unfortunately. Maybe a Boss 429 is coming with the big block? Maybe that could be the straight line monster to go after the Demon.

I agree, I think there's some pretty good evidence of a Boss 429 when we get the 2019 update

Nice first post.

Elaborate on the evidence please?
2019 is the 50th Aniversary of the Boss 429, Ford has already brought back the Boss 302 so why not bring back the Big Brother?

There’s no way the 7.0 would fit in the s550 so they’d need a new body style or at least a modification. In 2019 the Mustang is getting an update which could allow the engine to fit.

The 7.0 is being produced starting next year at Windsor and is going in the New Raptors so that gives Ford a block to build off of tallow Ford to produce a true Boss 429 with the correct size engine.
