Hello! So I've been strongly considering getting a paxton procharger some time this summer. What parts do you guys recommend to go with it? Parts as in like what kind of injectors, BAP, etc.. what do I need to ensure the car will run perfect? Any tips would help. Thanks!

Id1000 injectors and VMP boost a pump(plug and play), ngk iridium one step colder spark plugs. Pretty much it. Check out team beefcake he has really good deals on both supercharger packages

Also Paxton and ProCharger are two completely different setups. The above will work for both. I would also consider an 8-rib and t-bolt clamps if you are going to be aggressive with the boost. Also a Tial BOV is a good idea too.

Im thinking of doing the paxton as well with beefcake. Gonna do their id's 1050 package & add the stage 1 fuel for e85. I really want the 2.9 whipple, but for that basic set up $, I can do the paxton & return style with all bells & whistles.

I would also like to run E85. Would I need to get a return style fuel system in order for that to work out?

Not gonna be aggressive with boost, it's a daily so I don't want it blowing lol. But what is wrong with the BOV that comes with the paxton?

I just read that the stock doesnt purge "flawlessly". I read that from reputable people on here. Do I think its really a problem, not entirely. I just wanted to make sure it wouldnt be one. Ask Beef, he is the one that recommended it.

Or go with a procharger. Same power output, easier install, comes with 8 rib, better maf sensor placement, easier pulley changes if desired and zero issues with stock bypass valve. A little more money up front than base Paxton system but does not need any upgrades. Not trying to start a paxton vs procharger debate but those are just my observations. Both will make big power so you cant go wrong with either one.

Only thing that throws me off about the procharger is where the inlet filter sits.

It isn't a issue- my air intake temps while cruising are a match as ambient air temp- rise slightly while idiling and parked, go back to air temp after a bit of cruising- never been in a true stop and go traffic jam- but your not in boost, so then so it should only be elevated a few degrees-

Seems like everyone complains about the placement of the procharger air intake. If it was an issue, procharger would not have put it there. Like bunits my temps are close to the ambient air temp, usually a few degrees cooler. The only time you will ever see the intake temps go up is when you are idling or going WOT (which will also happen with every other blower). Just make sure if you go procharger you get the stage 2 system as the HO version intercooler is too small.

I actually am strongly considering the procharger now. I have the Cj manifold as well and I think the paxton would be a pain in the butt to install with the cj manifold bc of it's placement. But since the procharger sits to the side of the motor it shouldn't be too much of a problem.. just a different coupler at the throttle body I believe.

Thing is, the people who complain about the placement of the air filter usually don't have a procharger and are just assuming. Ask anyone who has one. Intake temps are a non issue. I notice no higher intake temps than when I was NA with a Steeda CAI.

I haven't really seen any centrifugally boosted CJ manifold cars. I know the CJ was specifically designed for NA applications, so you may run into tuning issues. You will definitely need a different throttle body as well as adapter for the charge piping. It may be cheaper/easier to sell the CJ and get a Boss intake if you are looking to rev past 7k RPM and make more power up top.

The thing is I really just want the stock manifold back on. But I got a deal on the Cj manifold with the twin 65 that I couldnt pass up. So I bought it and installed it, it's only been on for about a month or two. Which is the main reason why I am trying to keep the CJ on there. If anything I'll just throw the stock one back on and then boost it. I'll see.
