When i get to the track and have the car in s mode it shifts a t 6700 rpm . car cools down 30 mims before trying again and samething .would like to know whats goin on ,think i would have better times if this wasnt happening . Also is a 2.0 60 the besy i can get out of it

drop tire pressure to around 28 #'s in the rear on 19", 30#'s if on 20"'s . this will help you 60 ft- 1.90-1.95 should be considered a good 60' on stock radials- you wont get much better than that with the stock tune and stock radials- a DR will net you a lil better and become more consistant- but the stock torque converter is what is holding back the 60 foot. 1.85-1.88 when still on stock converter even with a tune- Transmission shifts are complex things in the modern transmissions- there is many variables that control when trans shift via the factory tune- wheel spin, elapsed time, wheel speed, 6700 sounds about right for the stock shifting from a dig- A tune will increase all of this and also clean up throttle response and drivability of the drive by wire.

With some engine power multiple SVTP members have cut 1.3 60's with the stock converter and have run very low 9's?

sounds like the OP is wondering why on the street in S mode, he can go to 7500rpms. At the track in S mode, why will it only go to 6700rpms? I could be reading it wrong though.
but if you have it in S mode and select 1st gear or whatever, it should allow you to pull to 7500rpms. If you put it in S mode and leave it alone, 6700rpms sounds right. S mode, you select gear, you are commanding when it shifts to the next gear. S mode and leave it alone, it's the computer that will still shift it.
Like mentioned, you will need a few things to cut a better 60'. Honestly with stock everything and stock tires, a 2.0 is really good/some what the norm.
Stock but with DR's will help a little but it's either A. get a Converter or B a power adder. but I have seen several with power adders, like FI, still only getting a 1.6-1.8 60'.
if you plan on staying N/A, definitely get a converter. With my 14 Auto; tune, cai and axle back netted me a 2.0 60', 12.44 @113.8mph. That was cool weather and 900' DA.
Add 3400 stall converter, DR's and Boss IM and I ran a 1.7 60', 11.97 @117.3mph. Very hot and humid South GA and DA was 3300'.

Can't wait to see what the longtubes, CJ and brm k member nets me. Sux it's getting hot out and DA will be on the rise.
