I installed my 2.9 kit about two months ago. Had it tuned by a reputable local tuner a week later. It ran good except for a slight miss when you first hit the gas. My tuner datalogged once with me driving and got back on the dyno. The tune is worse now, He told me to swap out the Bosch 58# injectors that came with the kit as there was not a lot of support for them. I installed ID 1050x injectors and waiting on another tune. I think my tuner is going through some personal issues, so he's just trying to buy time or he truly can't get her running right. I'm not sure I'm believing the injector deal but the ID's are great injectors for future power levels. He also told me the MAF placement in the Whipple CAI is acting weird. My ultimate question is, I'm going to stop using him and probably go with the Lund remote tuning through Beefcake Racing. Lund gets great reviews online but does anyone have personal experience with their tunes?

Did the Lund remote tuning when I got my procharger from beefcake. Their customer service is awesome and the tune is spot on. I would not hesitate to use them.

I'm supposed to be doing a VMP remote on the same kit with the kit's injector Thursday... I'll be updating my build thread with the results!

The 58's are used in the gt500, there is plenty of support for them and their data is available from Ford.

Are you also using their 132mm TB? Some tuner have problems with that TB, but the data for it is available, I had posted it in another thread.

If you want to swap tuners hit up Rob Shoemaker, you can find him in almost any of the coyote Facebook groups. He can set you up with a nGaguge and a tune to get that thing running right

I kinda figured the injectors weren't the issue. Oh well, the ID 1050 will give me room to grow. I'm using the stock throttle body for now. I already have an SCT X4 for tuning.

Just wanted to give an update, I pulled the trigger and did a Lund remote tune session through Beefcake. Jon JR did the tuning. She runs awesome now, not a miss anywhere. I highly recommend Lund/John JR for tuning. The initial tune only took 4 days after I placed my order through Beefcake. Tune revisions we're in my inbox the next day. It is a very simple process and Jon took the time to answer any questions I had. He even looked over the datalog from my 1st run at the track to make sure things we're good. If you have any doubts about Lund remote tunes...I can tell you they are great. Now on to working on traction issues at the dragstrip.

I'm with you - I'm about 75% of the way done working on a tune with Ken @ PBD - and there is absolutely no comparison between the canned thing the blower came with and this tune! Few small issues left to be tuned out as expected... We just ran out of time the other day and it's been raining since. I expect to finish up with him when the sun comes back to NY on Wednesday or Thursday!

Glad you like yours! So do you have an nGauge now? Do you like it? Do you have boost to the gauge?

I have an SCT X4 that I've had for about a year. It's really easy to datalog with it. I only have a Roush vent pod boost gauge to see the pressure.

Yeah - I like my X4 as well... Just assumed Lund nGauge when you said Lund tune ;)
I have the same for the vent pod boost too!
Just would be nice to have boost as part of a log (in my own mind) but I'm not investing in that setup!!! Like you - with this new tune I need to spend some $$ to get and keep all this new power to the ground!

For sure it would be nice to have a boost input. I think I'm going to do a fuel pressure and oil pressure input into my Aeroforce gauges first.
I think my BMR suspension is doing its job, zero wheel hop. It's just too much power for these tires. They are Nitto NT05, 305-35-19. Next run I may try to air them down a bit and do a healthy burnout to get them warm.
