I just folded up some paper (make it thick) and stick it in between the plate...works like a charm

Hey all I had kind of stopped making them temporarily as interest had tapered off and just wasn't worth it making one pair at a time every couple weeks but I had recently received a PayPal notification that I had received a payment so I hopped on here to check. Looks like there is enough interest to dig the stuff out and make a couple batches. so as of right now anyone who is interested please post up in here and send payment to the listed PayPal over the next couple days and come Mid day Sunday I'll post up a cutoff and get those sets made and sent out. I will also look into a bi weekly or monthly style ordering and shipping process for the future if there is interest to help me get everyone taken care of while juggling two jobs and a family. Additionally I will dig and see if I can find the photos for the install and update the OP

Also everyone should have gotten their orders by now if not please let me know tho I am still waiting for a message for the set I have no screen name or address from I'll give it another week and if I still haven't heard anything I'll just return the funds

finally got around to doing this fix on my coupe's driver side, even though i bought the parts from steve all the way back in september lol. maybe i was procrastinating about it because i was worried about breaking the glass

anyway, it makes a big difference - it really tightened it up like new. the foam piece fit the back of the mirror perfectly.

as slow984now mentioned, a hook-type dental tool is helpful to be able to pop the mirror off the tabs.

if i were to do it again, i would probably take the time to cover the whole area with towels and to wrap the tool with something so there is less chance of scratching the door paint, getting tool marks onto the mirror housing, or breaking the mirror if it were to drop. i scratched my door paint a little being careless with the dental tool, and also could see tool marks on the lower portion of the mirror housing from prying on it there. rookie mistake.

so, cheers for a fine product, steve! and thanks for the link to the pics on facebook, they are good to be able to look at so you know what you're getting into back there.

When I installed these, I didn't need a dental pick. I moved the mirror glass facing the driver as far as possible and I was able to see the back part of the mirror. And then I just used constant pressure and the glass popped right off. Made this a fairly easily install. I might have read someone using this technique as well.
