I had an earlier thread on picking up the 624 hp Ford Racing 2.3 Whipple at a steal during the closeout of this part. My car is stock including airbox and cats other than the blower kit and resonator delete. I completed the install in early March and have put on about 1k miles now as it is my daily. Originally had the procal 91 tune installed which ran smooth and was just fine; drive ability about stock quality.

I had Shaun at AED provide a tune for me about 2 weeks after install. As it was with the NA tune I bought from him 2 years ago, the response via phone and email was virtually instantaneous. Drivability is improved to the procal tune as the throttle response is much better, especially below 4K rpm. Datalogging was thorough and I trust the engine will last a long time. There is no surging or any other issues, I can't say enough how easy it is to forget the blower is there when driving back and forth to work. It's perfect.

I went down to get the car on the dyno for a couple runs with Keith at AZ Dyno Chip (also a good guy). I'll attach the files later, but the car made 518/442 on Shaun's 91 octane tune. It made almost exactly the same power through 4 runs on the dyno, so it is super consistent. That's not breaking any records I know, but Shaun offered to push harder, and I said to stop where we were until I put some more seat time in it and get it to the track. Boost starts at 6psi and climbs to just over 7 at the end of the run with the 3.375" pulley that came with the kit.

Awesome, they are definitely fun with the blower on them! I got the 624hp FRPP Whipple at a steal too, and have it in the shop tomorrow putting on the 3.125" pulley and 127mm JLT CAI with the VMP 67mm TB. VMP did my tune, and was at 533hp with LTH, catted mid and Roush 110mm CAI before these recent other mods (and was run in 4th gear on the manual, should've been 5th).

Enjoy the new power, it's at least 29% more fun for sure and well worth it!

I have the 3.125" pulley in the garage for future racegas tune. Let me know how yours performs!

I've got about a 1000 miles on mine drives just like stock until you step into it mileage is pretty close to the same when driving normal I love it.I'm still running the pro cal tune fans are on constantly after warm up idle still at 800.Just wondering how much more he thought was left on the table?

With the 3.125" pulley, 127mm CAI, and 67mm VMP TB threw it back on the same dyno and pulled 657 rwhp and 530 ft lb torque on 91 Octane pump! Now I'm worried about my rods surviving, may need to get a built short block or pulley up a size or two!

Yep, I saw that. I saw you mentioned that you might pulley up to drop the power to a safer level. That's great power though. I'm sure it feels great running around. My tuner said he wouldn't tune any pulley smaller than 3.375" on 91. That'd probably put you closer to 600 and safe.

Do I need to retune if I went back to the 3.375" pulley, or can I use the same tune?

I'd say max 550rwhp with my setup given the boost level, stock air box and gt500 twin 60mm throttle body and factory cats on 91. It'd need to get a couple more degrees of timing to approach that number.

I'd leave that to the tuner to answer. But my opinion is it'd be fine going up in pulley. However, depending on the timing table setups, it may not be optimized since the tune was setup for higher boost level and therefore less timing. It depends on how the tuner limits the timing in the load range seen by the pcm.

I just got mine back from the shop, ported 65mm, lth, 127mm and a 3.0 pulley gives me 9-10lbs. I put in a rst clutch. I'm on 91 oct tune from Lund and it's a absolute animal. My timing is isn't very advanced due to 91 oct but I should be around 650whp

Nice. I look forward to seeing your dyno results. Which injector are you using?
