I am currently working a deal on a brand new '16 GT350 that the dealer is discounting heavily and I intend on trading my GT in. I negotiated the cash price of the car first, then I mentioned the trade. The dealer is 1300 miles away from me which makes the trade more difficult. However, I would pick up the car in-person and trade my GT in-person.

I want to know how you would ensure that they stick to the trade-in price we agreed upon? I have a vehicle purchase agreement(which is a binding contract) which has the final price of the car, the trade in value and the balance due upon delivery. My concern is that when I come in-person with my car that they will try and reneg and off a lower amount. Any suggestions?

While on the topic of pay, what's an average salesman make a year?

That depends on the store and the area.

Nick, nice talking to you yesterday.

I'll post pics of my new toy later next week.

Of course! Enjoy it!

Without having a signed contract and everything on the vehicle, they aren't legally binded. However, I HIGHLY doubt they would doubletalk on their price once you got there. They may try to make it up a little on your trade, but that's about it.

You shouldn't expect them to give you a 100% hard number on your trade, however a pretty small range should be ok for both parties.

Nick, when is Ford going to make a rcsb 3.5 ecoboost truck? I'd be interested in that. If they dropped the current Raptor motor in that configuration they could called it the Gen3 Lightning.

I doubt they do it. The Tremor was as close as it's going to get. The Raptor has too much success, and the regular cab truck buyers are few and far between.

The Tremor didn't sell very well at the price point it was at.

Thank you! I have no clue why they would say that. Maybe they are stalling on my deal to give them until Monday to lock down a dealer trade

Sure sounds that way...

Are you able to see when order banks close/open prior to the dates? Specifically for MY17 and MY18 F-150s?

Got a stupid question since I don't have any familiarity with the process...

If you trade a vehicle in with a lot of positive equity on a lease purchase, do they cut you a check or is it applied to the payments? When I was considering trading the V in on a Hellcat, this crossed my mind. If it was applied to the payments, I wouldn't have any payments for the duration of the lease, lol.

You can do it either way. A lot of people want a check for their equity.

People do 1 payment leases all the time.

2 parts:
I got the complete environmental package on my 2018 F150 about a month ago and rust spots and black dots are sticking to the paint. I can scratch it with my nail but I’m Not doing the every week on 0degree weather in upstate NY. At what point do I bring it in a dealer to get it all off (wax) and not void the warranty as if I was neglecting my paint? Pics below, look close. Truck is covered.

We’re about to get a 2018 Explore Sport 401a package. I have dealers fighting for best price of $46,500. Any additional tips you can give me? We're locked in on one in Albany. Carthage, NY is going to try. Syracuse and Rochester can't come close.

Wash the car thoroughly and use clay lube and detailers clay to remove these contaminants from the clear coat. Was the vehicle exposed to overspray from construction nearby?

I got the overly priced $1,200 environmental/paint protection plan for $600 for all my cuisines there. And for this very reason. Is it necessary I spend my money, time, and labor on clay lube when I paid for the protection?

No construction. I got it in early Nov. here in northern NY, everything started freezing and FEET of snow. It’s whatever is in the sand and salt they use up here.
