The cable outlet in my new place is on the wrong side of the living room. What options do I have for getting a TV signal to the other wall? Its a modern build with concrete floors and sealed baseboards so routing a line isn't an option

I have a Roku for streaming but I'll be using Cox Cable for TV. I dont mind leaving the modem and cable box behind me

Poke a hole in the wall and route it through the attic.

If you have a "smart tv" Cox may have a tv app.

Run a white cord around the base of the room. Lol
Thought about that but It would be visible in several areas including doorways

No attic, basement, or exterior wall.

Cox wants $150 to wall fish a new line...

Well damn, I'm stumped then. Don't have much experience with this. I ran one around my living room once and nailed it on to baseboards.

Sounds like the easiest thing to do would be to move your tv to the wall with the outlet.

Do you own this place?

If you do, might be worth it to pay the $150 to fish a new line.

Excuse the ignorance but what do you mean by sealed baseboards? I moved my tv to a different wall recently by pulling off the baseboards, drilling holes in the studs and routing the wires the wires that way. I was able to go up over a door by only pulling the top molding off and fishing the wires on both sides. If I wasn't trying to flush mount the wall mount the whole thing would have been a 4 pain in the ass on a 10 scale. I pulled speaker wire and coax.

Ya I saw those $200-400 options. Yikes!

They were caulked/sealed. So I would have to staple or strap it down to the baseboard. But no matter which route I go there a door way or two with no door frame. So I either step over the cord or outline the door. No thanks

I'd have to imagine that you would lose quality once going wireless, but I'm no AV guy....

in for someone else to do research

$150 seems like a bargain for a professional install. Locally the cable companies won't snake any wires. They will run the wire outside and drill into an exterior wall near a proposed new cable location.

The door thing sucks. I was surprised how easy I was able to do it even with my minimal woodworking skills. Good luck otherwise tho.

Are any of your devices Miricast enabled? Microsoft sells a dongle for $50 or so that I use from my surface. So far it's streamed everything I've thrown at it. The only options I've ever seen that actually work worth a darn are rather expensive.

Definitely pay the $150. There are ethernet and AC extenders that could work in you case, but you'll spend about the same amount to get them. For example, if you have ethernet in both areas: https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Opti...d=1493125642&sr=8-1&keywords=ac+coax+extender

If not, you can use the ethernet extended couples with an AC extender (plus into outlet and uses the power line as an extension wire). I have used the AC extenders before and they work very well if the line is relatively clean.
