Why in the world do you need credit when you have money to buy things?

All a credit score tells you is that you have debt or had debt recently. I would much rather have 3 million in the bank with no debt than have 800 credit score.
Why not both? There's no downside to using a card, cash back, extra warranty on some items, less hassel. Just pay it automatically each month. Right now I'm paid $150 a month for using a card.

You don't save money by having debt.

Bank of America did not make 4.5 billion in net profit in 3 months(3rd quarter 15) by saving people money.

Save your breath the other big bank are profiting a billion plus a month as well.
I'm my case the store I'm buying from pays the fee, and I get part of that fee.

I don't need to prove anything, YOU are the one quoting Dave Ramsey like he was some kind of a god and his word is gold and proof. it's not

Bad choice of words. You've called my statements bullshit all over the place with get the F out thrown here and there.
All without a shred of proof or evidence to prove your point.

Despite all this others have provided evidence that what I am saying is correct. Check #125, #142. Now you can believe them or not. I could care less.
Keep doing what you do because you have good income high credit and little debt.

Ramsey speaks heavily to those who cannot handle credit responsibility.

Wth card is that!? Or do you have an incredibly high monthly bill and a simple cash back card?

I'm honestly curious as to the justification behind why I shouldn't use a credit card, assuming the balance is always paid off before interest accumulates, if it ends up rewarding me in the end.

I make a $550 purchase on March 1st, and make a payment of $550 on March 30th (one day before the due date). In return I earn 60,000 air miles or $40. What's the harm or disagreement in doing this?

Note: Obviously the above numbers are purely BS and used only as an example.

To answer your question about "how to raise credit as fast as possible", there is no real shortcut, you could get a credit card, get a small personal loan but in the end Time and and steady record showing you can pay consistently and on time will be needed. Best of luck though, but keep searching for other methods...there is always a way around these kinda things. Best of luck

There's a lot of crap info on here. Seriously. I'm a retired bank employee. Don't listen to any of it. You establish a credit report and history as soon as you request to open something as simple as a bank account with overdraft. If you have no previous credit history, and no personal banking history with a bank, this gets progressively worse or better. You can have a green credit score and have never borrowed a thing in your life. You can start with a bank account overdraft. If you have no prior credit history it would be best to have at least one year of direct deposit and no delinquent activity you will probably be approved for an overdraft. Once the bank submits the application for the overdraft, an electronic request is sent to usually both credit reporting agencies and this is what gets the ball rolling. This is basically what creates your credit profile with the credit agencies. Then all the rest of the algorithms come in. Tel#, paying you cellphone bill, age, length with employer and time at address etc.

I run almost everything through it, insurance, cable internet, phone, shopping, anything that doesn't add a fee for it. I get 2% to 5% back on everything. Spend about 6k a month.

@ON D BIT has shown you why with actual research. You spend more. ~1 in 2 CC holders carries a balance. But I'm sure that math doesn't apply to SVT members right. ;)

I thought I was done with this thread.

Don't. Do the research yourself. He has. Hell hes been the research himself making 250k a year in the 80's using debt. Ask him which way is better?

For those without overdraft?

And the op are you saying he doesn't not have a checking savings account since he does not have a credit score?
