Challenger Demon will have three power modes:

Power Mode 1 produces 757 horsepower

Power Mode 2 unlocks 815 horsepower

Power Mode 3 is 1,023 horsepower.

To activate Power Mode 3, the Demon apparently needs “100 octane or better” gasoline, the “Crate PCM,” and have Drag Mode activated.

Oh shit I thought you had bought a HC

I wish I had. It'd actually be cheaper with less down to lease an HC, then what I'm paying on a used SRT392. The dealer still has a 16HC, might see what we can work out.

You probably running them on 10" wheel... 555RS run narrow... not to mention Demon has 315 tires.. which will likely require an 11" wheel. Probably with with more aggressive offset.

Whatever stock size is. I also ran them on my 12 GT500 PP , no fitment issues.

Im pretty sure your car has a 9.5" wheel just like the shelbys... thats how narrow 555Rs

Now imagine an 11" wheel with a true 315 size tire... gonna be at least an additional 1.5-2"

Hence why the Demon likely needed flares...

I wonder if the drag mode is open exhaust or something with an E cut out.

Still wonder how race gas nets 200 HP. Cant see it happening without increasing boost so Im wondering if somehow they can WG it. Or maybe they can open a bypass unless its in mode 3.

If that's true it's gonna be a $90k+ car.

A lot of member on here thought there was no way a hellcat was going to be under 80 thousand and it was. I don't think this car is going to be as expensive as people think

Neither do I. They could barely sell Vipers at those prices.

Wow,............Dodge is killing it!!
So, we'll know tomorrow for sure. I hope these numbers are all true. Game over! lol

I wonder if any of the Demon's ram air stuff will be available for the Hellcats to use as well. This engine LOVES cold air, case in point, the opening in the front driver's headlamp. I do believe that the Demon has one headlight opening on the passenger side as well and the big scoop on the hood is functional. Sort of like a ram air tunnel for air to travel to get to the cold air intake.

Every engine loves cold air...
Correct, as engines run hot.
But the Demon has 3 forced ram air passages. 2 from the headlamps, one on the driver's side, the other on the passenger. Then, you have that giant hood scoop as well that acts as a ram air.
That's the point I'm trying to make here.

I will admit, I saw the leaked power numbers and I am now interested. I can't say I have ever been in this much suspense about a new car release. If it truly does end up with over 1k HP I am curious to see how it will effect the GT500 and ZL1. This is a great time to be a car guy.

Wonder if "mode 3" includes a pulley for the blower. There's no way to make 200hp off of just fuel and timing with the same boost, and bypassing that much boost at lower octane would raise IAT through the roof. Maybe they are doing it another way though.

engines don't "love" cold air because they run hot. they love it because they can make more horsepower. cold air is denser than hot air so there are more oxygen molecules to burn.

cold air = more oxygen = more combustion

As one dimensional as this car will be, why not buy a cobra jet and run 8's?

cannot register them
