Who is running a 2.9 Whipple on their 13/14 and what pulley combo are you using for what boost level?

Just installed 2.9 on my 13 w 3.0 Upper / Stock lower only seeing 13psi. Adding a IW 15% lower next looking for 17 - 18psi.

Thoughts? Include your mods too. I've got a JLT 155mm CAI, VMP 67mm TB, 1 7/8" SW LT's, Catted H, ID1050's, etc

if your only seeing 13 psi with a 3.0 upper then your bypass is leaking.....should see around 17-18psi......with that 2.9 your gonna wanna spin it to a min of 20 psi if not its gonna fell slower than the TVS you just removed.......the whipple will shine at 20psi and above

Whipple and JDM both are saying it's not unusual for a 2.9 Whipple on a 13/14 GT500 w 1 7/8" LTs. Adding the IW 15% overdrive lower should add 5 - 6 psi of boost to get into 18 - 19psi range as desired. Will know by Monday as parts are enroute.

Finally got the IW 15% lower installed and Dyno tuned the car today. The 2.9 is still only making 16psi now w 3.0 upper and aforementioned 15% lower. Whipple indicates it's not out of line for a 13/14 5.8L w 1 7/8 LTs and my tuner is confident no mechanical issues exist. On his Mustang Dyno the car made right at 700rwhp in 85 degree air today. Given his past experience that likely translates to 740rwhp - 770rwhp on most Dynojets. I guess that's not bad on pump 93 at "only" 16psi of peak boost. Thoughts?

Next mod in a couple months will be a 2.75" UP w tensioner hoping to see 18psi. Appears that is all the 2.9L Whipple can muster on the larger 5.8L engine.

Have a 2.9 on my 11, 3" blower pulley, stock lower pulley, 1 3/4" LT's.
On it's last dyno outing, ( DynoJet ), the boost came in @ 19.4..

I'm trying to reconcile the difference between a 5.4 GT500 and 5.8 GT500 w the 2.9. Really haven't seen many 13/14 cars w the 2.9 besides TORQJNKY on this site and he was using the 10% lower and 3.0 upper seeing 17psi. Seems the 5.8 displacement eats up the 2.9's capability pretty quick. I'm going to try the 2.7" UP which in theory should be worth 2psi over the 3.0. If true I'd then see 18psi and likely 725rwhp - 735rwhp on the Mustang Dyno which is roughly equivalent to 780rwhp - 800rwhp on a Dynojet. I would be more than happy at that power level w stock block 93 octane tune and effectively running the 2.9 Whipple at its max. I am surprised how much different the 2.9 acts on the 5.8 vs. 5.4 as this was not something I anticipated.
