Any knowledge if the 2018 Mustang updates (dash, styling, etc ) will be implemented on the 2018 GT350s?
I'm about to start serious discussions with a local dealer about a 2018 GT350 or Charger Hellcat.
Many of the updates, especially the interior would be a huge draw to me for ordering a GT350. The exterior is perfect to me, but would be interesting to see if changes there too.
I heard the Raptor would be a carryover and NOT share the '18 F-series updates, I can see Ford doing the same on the GT350.
Going to be hard to pass on a Lightning blue GT350, especially if I can order one at a good price. Any advice appreciated.

I would bet the 2018 GT350s are carried over much like the Raptor.

Yup, correspondence from Ford says the only changes to the GT350 involves colors for 2018. I was hoping we'd see implementation of the latest rubber from Michelin.

Bummer, that new interior is cool. Might have a shot on the rubber Tob, probably depends somewhat on Michelin.

I thought I would be picking between a charger hellcat and a GT350, until I got in them both. Don't get me wrong the hellcats are really cool cars... especially if you want to race bubba in a straight line down to the fishing hole.

The "Dodge" salesman put it best... the hellcat in a redneck drag car and the GT350 is an Italian sports car in disguise.

Enough said... GT350 is sitting my garage

Not flaming, but
As a Ford guy (I have owned 2 Lightning, 1 Cobra, 1 Gt500 and 2 Corvettes), I find comments like this close minded and a tool to rationalize a purchase. All the American sports cars are basically about the same. 30 is not the new 20. 2 for 1 is not a deal, and the mustang regardless of the trim level is not an Italian sports car in disguise. The fact is that about 65% of us would own the "Italian sports car" (or German) if we could afford to, Do you know who wears disguises, people that need to hide something.

It's not that serious, dude. I don't know about the guy you were responding to, but if I could afford a new Italian exotic sports car, I probably still wouldn't buy one. I'm not saying any Mustang is the equal of an Italian exotic. I also don't really believe Italian exotics are the definitive driving experience. I think reviewers get caught up in the air of driving an unobtainable car, the placebo affect takes hold, and the hyperbole begins to fly.

As a guy who never owned a non-German car before 2016, including a handful of M cars from various eras, and who cross-shopped the M3/M4 ... I guess I have to say I disagree. People buy what they want and they rationalize it however they like, but I do think the GT350/R is a legitimate M4 competitor. It's different: it's cheaper, it feels cheaper, it's a bit less practical - but the performance characteristics aren't that far off, and in many ways the Voodoo experience feels more "traditional M-car" than the current bevy of turbo 6-cylinders. Reminds my of my old S38-powered cars for power delivery.

Never should have sold my E28 M5, though. That car is now worth at least double what I let it go for.

I hope you're talking about the standard GT350. The M4 is in no way a competitor to the R. I've driven the M4 hard on track, and it ain't no R. That's for sure.

^^ That's what I'm getting at; I bought the R because it's the better performance car at a better price vs. the M4.

I was mostly responding to the comment above "most of us would be buying the Italian sports car (or German) if we could afford to." I am a dyed-in-the-wool German car freak (ownership history: ~15 BMWs, 1 Audi, 2 VW, and nothing American before my Fiesta ST and then the R, both purchased last year), and I still see this as the better car.

I would agree that people are not likely cross-shopping any Mustang with Italian cars, but the German car comment jumped out at me.

No hard feeling at all, just sharing a thought. I would not mind a R, but they are still hard to find at sticker. I cant justify 80k+ in my mind or wallet for the 350 knowing the sticker is a little over 60.

ps. when I was talking alternative purchase, I was thinking foreign cars north of 6 digits

Yeah, gets harder to justify a 911 GT3 when an R is only a tick slower around Laguna Seca for under half the money. Not that "rationality" is part of any purchase of a $150k+ car ...

I work at the facility and the answer is no. The only changes on the Shelby is colors.
We have built 2018 Pre-Production 350/R already in LeadFoot Gray, Orange, and Kona Blue.
Q1 for 2018 wont happen until after shutdown 2nd week of July. (Engineering).
