Sure glad I kept the Mt-82 Boss 302! No that's a quality transmission!

I think Dyno dummies avatar fits better now, no?Sorry to break it down to you bubba but even the base 350 makes the 500 feel like one is driving a bean bag. Base 350 might go limp in 15min but for those first 14min, it will be schooling the 500 in handling, like Hendrix giving out free guitar lessons.
People keep saying this but I have yet to hear any first hand experiences. I'm thinking most believe that if it can't last 3 laps on track it won't last 60 min on the freeway on a hot day. Then say it overheats while street driving when they have never seen it happen.
It has easily and repeatedly been proven and shown, the transmission wasn't designed and cannot operate under moderate to severe duty for any length of time. That's not acceptable for any vehicle, not just a gt350. I would love to know Tremecs suggested application and recommendations. I am sure their answer would not coincide with Fords decision to not include them in the 16 base/tech cars.
And I meant to add "without the coolers" to my statement that the car can't last long without them. Tremec designs the transmission, they don't determine the weight and driving style of the application it's going in. That onus was on Ford from the beginning.
by Ford doing nothing, they are ruining the reputation of all gt350's and it was their own f-up. The more I think about it this car it just going to quickly fizzle itself out and demand will dwindle. They should fix it because it's going to linger. Even 17-18 cars will wear it.
And again, how is an uninformed buyer who does not do his research, takes the word of a poorly trained salesman, AND pays a markup, Ford's fault ?
I prefer Eddie Van Halen for that reference. All good though.
If I put the tires and wheels of the 350 R on my 2014 Shelby, I doubt the 350R would be much of a threat.

I've driven both cars and prefer my 500, never driven the R I'm sure it's a different animal. All I know is my buddy can't keep up with his 350 Base, maybe he's a shitty driver, i'm not certain that is the case, more importantly he's also never overheated. But hey go ahead throw another funny picture up and tell me how wrong I am, whatever helps you sleep at night...

ON D BIT
With all due respect and not to inflame, but...........
As an observer of what works and what doesn't :
The issue is overheating, Not withstanding my poor comparison. I took my 2014 Gt 500 out to the track and pushed it pretty hard. It just handles.it. If I put the tires and wheels of the 350 R on my 2014 Shelby, I doubt the 350R would be much of a threat. The V6 Alpha Romeo Giulia just put down a better time than the 350 R on the Nurburgring. See top 100 fastest cars on the Nurbergring. Ford had a good marketing plan, the OEM 350 fell short for me. I passed on it. Not enough for me. Maybe a collector item down the road.
If this car overheats on the street, something is wrong.
Again , I really wanted one.
The ads don't say R model or the Track Pack car...they say the GT350. They don't differentiate. You've got the brochures. Take off your ADM goggles and look at them. Please show me where your claims are coming from.
EVERY SINGLE advertisement talking about the GT350 being a track car either shows a picture of the GT350R or a Track Pack car. Every single one.
I'd love to see where a base or Tech car were being touted as the most track worthy Mustang in history.
On the '99 Cobra debacle, Ford claimed the cause of the lower output was because the air filter element was delaminating. I have no idea how that would even happen. In my mind, delaminating means something is coming apart. Who knows what it means in engineering terms. Ford recalled and replaced the filter elements, and the cars started producing the advertised power. I think they also retuned the engines.

You paid the same price for a tech pack for heated and cooled seats. The spoiler is cheap, the nav screen is cheap in terms of actual cost to Ford. Sync 3 /Apple Car Play was bought and sold into the vehicle, and it doesn't work either out of the box...these are important features that a driver would enjoy having in the vehicle, since Ford offered it and it is available and working technology. This was my first brand new $ 81,000.00 car and to say disappointment would really be an understatement. I'm considering dumping mine at the first available opportunity because I don't have the confidence that it would even make a good dragster unless I had endless amounts of money in replacement stock parts. They need to be tough and damn near bulletproof for me to sink money into it.
The owners manual is in sealed plastic for the owner to open.
There was no test drive option.
Adding coolers was 'easy peasy' before you sign on the dotted line. You connect your car to wifi for what? So they can extract vehicle information, not to update anything or do anything in any way shape or form to make it operate any better.

Thanks for breaking it to me gently, I'm still going to pass on guitar lessons from a burn-out of nearly 50 years ago. I'm sure this will get you guys nice and pissy. Not that I care.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion even if it is wrong. I've driven both cars and prefer my 500, never driven the R I'm sure it's a different animal. I had a 2014 GT500 and it was a faster car than the 2016 GT350, at least in my hands. The 500 shortened the straights better than the 350 shortens the corners. I changed because the 500 drove like it was ready to kill me, and the 350 isn't.
